Q: 5iteam:I continue to hold Domtar bouncing around 20% down and of course with no dividend.considering I do not have any foreign positions I am contemplating taking the loss on Domtar and initiate and diversify by acquiring Cyh for income and future growth.at 16.50 CYH is off about 25% from 52week high. Do you think Domtar has more growth potential in a market recovery? Your comments greatly appreciated. tks.Larry

Q: What is your opinion of investing in bonds vs GIC's or stocks with high dividends for Fixed Income? I'm looking for security, and given the current bond yields and little room for interest rates to drop, bonds don't look too promising. What do you think of a combination of bonds, GIC's and blue chip dividends?
If so, which bond ETFs would you recommend, for both Canada and the US? I have some USD cash, but mostly Canadian.

Q: Hi,
if you were putting a fund together comparable to VGG, but for Canadian equities, what might be your first 5 top picks assuming the same criteria for the ETF? Also, what would be your 3 honorable mentions?
When comparing CDZ and VGG what are the main differences in terms of the stocks that make up these two ETF's?
Many thanks,
Dan

Q: Hi, based on the companies that you cover and also US if possible, which companies are likely to have a stable and steady growth in the next 5 - 10 years ? I mean, I would like to invest in companies that are fairly valued today and that can grow steadily in the next years, not extreme high growth companies. I aim companies that will give me a CAGR > 10% but with a medium risk.

Q: After the announced AMD takeover would you suggest selling now or hold on in a margin account? At what price point a sale would represent fair value? In general, i have not been able to figure out a selling price for any candidate that has been bought either for cash or a combination of stock and cash. How do you calculate that?

Q: Hi 5i team, I would like to clarify the 30 day rule on loss selling. Hypothetically, if I buy say 300 shares at $1 and sell 200 at $1.5 ( gain of $100)and at a much later date say 1 or 2 years sell 100 at $0.5 (loss of $50).Will the last sell at a loss counted as loss selling? Thanks.

Q: You knew it would happen but I wish it had been at a premium to the pre covid price and not the current price.... I've been a longtime holder and done OK, it has paid a solid div for me over the years and I was happy with the post BIP spike last year. I sold today at the premium over the offer as I agree with you that BIP doesn't need to sweeten anything with control. Unlikely in this market and that space that a white night will come in. So my question is what should I do with the cash? I dont hold any brookfield's so buying BIP is an option or do you have a better brookfield option. I am overweight financial already so doesn't need to be in the same sector. Overall well balanced so could be anything...balanced portfolio follower slowly shifting to income.
