Q: I have owned Corning for about 15 years. While I am generally pleased with the company and the stock performance, the shares have had a bad few months and a very bad day today. Do you know what accounts for today's drop and how do you view the shares for a long-term hold from here? Thank you!

Q: I have some cash I would like to get back into the markets and would appreciate your recommendation on 3 or 4 "screaming" buys on both the CDN and US markets. Keep the good work and I would love to see you expand on Chart Attack.

Q: Stock screeners. Could you suggest web sites with a great stock screener tool - free or paid?

Failing that could you list Canadian companies that currently pay a dividend above 2.75 % and have no debt?

Q: Good afternoon,

I came across this article:

https://www.rvtravel.com/expect-higher-prices-short-supply-propane-winter-1023b/

Would SPB be a good way to play this theme? Are there any US alternatives?

Thanks in advance.

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,

Portfolio Analytics indicates that we need to increase our Real Estate holdings, but the only place to do so would be in an unregistered account. I’m looking at GRT.UN and TCN. My thinking is that even though GRT.UN has a slightly better chart, the best option would be to go with TCN, and since it’s not a REIT, there would be some tax advantages in this situation. Is my thinking correct? I should add that our only holdings in this sector are FSV and IIP.UN, both recommendations of 5i, but held in our RRIFs. A big thank you for these past recommendations, and for your assistance with my latest query.

Q: An article in today’s Globe recommended this stock as a solid counter-market sentiment investment. Your thoughts?

Q: Hi 5i,
I wonder if the market is (and will continue) reacting quite negatively to the new federal cabinet, out of a belief that economic growth, national self sufficiency and real prosperity for Canadians is not currently high on the list of government priorities. Nothing can hinder economic health like obstructionist government policy and I sure see lots of that in Canada these days. I'm feeling like I should concentrate hard on moving as much as I can into US and international names.
Would you say I'm overreacting to what the next 18 months to 2 years (the usual life span of a minority government) might bring to Canadian business? Are there sectors that are likely to thrive during that period, other than maybe the banks, do you think?
Thanks for any insight you can offer.
Peter

Q: Good evening!
In light of today's announced split, what are your thoughts, particularly in regards to the residentially focused part. Is there any reason in particular why the dividend would be at risk? Would you see them increasing the dividend back to the original pre-covid levels, and if so when?
Thanks! Paul K

Q: Hey Peter,

I am confounded. Ctc.a is down approx 10% in the past few months. HD and LOW are up approx 15% similarily

That's a disparity of approx 25% and they're all in the same business.

I know its not the B of C announcement today that caused this.

What is your thoughts on why and MOST IMPORTANTLY would you suggest I still hold?

Up only 6% on my position currently.

Thanks

Sheldon

Q: What is causing the current weakness in Methanex ? I have had success with it in the past and your fairly recent comments are positive so am considering picking some up at todays price. Any benefit to buying in US$ other than retaining dividends in US$ without losing on currency exchange ?
Have been with 5I since inception and am very happy with your insight.

John.

Q: Hi Team,
After the failed takeover rumour by pypl Pins is quickly at a 52week low. Do you see this as a buying opportunity in a name that continues to spark takeover interests from big names like pypl and previously Msft? I hold the stock and am currently down on the name. Average down or simply hold? Or ….is it time to sell? Thanks
