Q: “The dark side of dividends: Ballooning corporate debt”. Could you please comment on this article in the Globe this week suggesting significant increased corporate debt (to support corporate dividend programs) actually poses a looming threat to dividend viability going forward. To what extent do you feel this applies to the utility and pipeline sectors in particular and specifically which companies might be most impacted. Thanks.
Q: I noticed that QST had a one time impairment charge of $0.04 per share in Q4. If you add that back that to Q4 results, isn't QST's stock undervalued today based on its growth profile, current revenue run rate plus that the Company stated (in its earnings press release) that its revenue growth is sustainable?
Q: Following up on the comments on year end numbers, without the one time charge the earnings were actually ahead of estimates at 18 cents for the year vs. 17 cents estimated.

Q: Good morning 5i,
I set up a DRIP program for my daughter's TFSA in BNS PKI and WSP. Dividends have been accumulating but no new shares have been added. Does the bank or the company determine when new share will be issued? Does each company have a minimum number before adding ( i.e. 3 or 5 ) before issuing? Any clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks for your great service ,
Gary
Q: Which ETF best mirrors the Tangerine Equity Growth Portfolio, Fund Code: INI240? I'm happy with the performance but thought I may be able to reduce the MER with the same product in an ETF.
Thanks
Q: RUF.UN was recently recommended by one analyst as buy. I sold it one year ago out of concern over the very high payout ratio. This ratio is still over
100 %. The share price has been flat for months. Is this stock worth considering ? Joe
Q: A BNN guest recently made mention of a European competitor that may soon enter the NA marketplace that could severely impact Savaria's business, to the point where a friend of his considers SIS a short (I think this is also in part due to its valuation). Are you aware of any such threat on the horizon? Does Savaria have any kind of moat or special advantage that might insulate it from new (presumably established & high quality) competition?
I currently hold almost all of the names in the Balanced Equity Portfolio and would like to dip my toes into the Growth Portfolio. What are your currently top 5 ideas from the Growth Portfolio whose risk profile would be the most similar to the names held in the Balanced Equity Portfolio?
Q: Hi,
Im looking to raise some cash to put towards spotify and dol (post split) and cant decide what (if any) of my holdings should be sold. Generally Im long term oriented and use all available DRIPS to accelerate. Currently I hold aqn, acb, bns, bep, enb, fb, gsy, gud, nvda, pho, sis, slf, vfv, vgg, vee. Right now, I think Im only down on GUD. Do you think any should be sold for any reason (including too much sectoral overlap, loss of long term value etc.) or should I keep them all and look at just adding fresh cash? What do you think about looking to add spotify and dol?
Thanks!
Q: I have held BPY for a number of years, primarily for a solid, growing dividend. I am still up 20% plus the dividend and with the sell off in the past year I am looking at topping up to a 4% full position.
I do have a well diversified portfolio largely based on a mix of your 3 portfolios.
The recent selloff has broken support and am wondering if you see an end to the decline. I would think the dividend yield would be supporting the price unless there is a concern with the sustainability of the dividend.
Would you consider it buyable now or wait for further declines?
Q: I sold my position in Birchcliff Energy this year for a small loss and have no oil or gas stocks. Is ATH a buy, hold, or sell at it's current price ? Thank you for your great advice.
Q: I would like to mix in a number of Canadian large caps into my TFSA that have moderate pe's , lower beta and on the growthy side. Would please give me 6-8 names to pick from. Thank you.
Q: you seem to get an awful lot of questions on altagas which i do not own, if i did buy it, i would only buy the receipts and not for the yield but for the capital appreciation if the deal fails.
my question is what are the chances the deal does not go thru. i think the chances of no deal are close to zero but value your opinion. dave
Q: Hi, I purchased this and ZHY in a few registered accounts for the yield and thinking they might be a little more immune to decline in a rising interest rate scenario. Now I'm not too sure. Should I sell or are the prices reflecting recent interest rate bumps?
Many thanks you guys do a great job!
