Q: If I sell 100 shares of company x at a loss, can I sell another 100 shares at a loss within 30 days, and claim both losses?

Thanks

Q: Good morning 5i. I hold GOLD in a non registered account and am down 36% since purchase. I am considering selling to harvest the capital loss. My two part question; What is your outlook on GOLD over the next year? What would you recommend as a surrogate gold investment if I were to sell GOLD? Thanks very much for your great service.

Q: What do you make of the trading pattern in SYZ? It is well off its lows and seems to be holding up well in a $7.7-7.9 trading range for the past month. It consistently traded above $10 for many years prior to 2021 and, as far as I can tell, its business prospects in the enterprise software space are the same or better. Can you comment on its future growth and likelihood of getting back to its old highs? I know the dividend cut disappointed the market, but should not the former dividend payment now be reflected in better future growth in the stock price? If the stock price doesn't get back to old highs, what are the prospects of a software consolidator like CSU, OTEX or ENGH taking them out?

Q: I have used a direct investing account with a major bank to purchase and hold my investments for several years. I am looking at other options such as WealthSimple and Questrade for investments. Q: I was told that the gov't moratorium on student loans restricted sofi's growth for the past few years. Can you see what % of business is tied to student loans? I was also told that the Supreme Court ruled against government on the moratorium and that interest charges would be payable from Sept. 1. How big of a catalyst do you see this being for sofi?
Thank a lot.

Q: I have held SIS for a number of years and although I have enjoyed the dividend, the share price never seems to hold its momentum and drifts back to the low/mid teens where I bought it. I like the dividends but value total return more. I have never owned WELL but have followed it based on your recommendation. Can you rank the two and provide a short explanation as to your preference on the following metrics: 1) Management 2) Balance Sheet 3) Profitability 4) Long Term (5-10 yr) Return Potential and 5) Risk

I would prefer to hold just one of them.

Secondly, what is your analysis of CXI's quarter.

Many Thanks

Scott
