Q: 1) How do you feel about picking up a few shares of CAR.UN, especially if you can get the shares below the financing price of $49.

2) Do you have any thoughts regarding CAR.UN's trading over the last handful of days, post equity offering (sharp increases, followed by sharper decreases, relatively speaking for a reit)?

3) Historically speaking, despite decent distribution increases, as a result of the share price increase, is this generally speaking the lowest CAR.UN's yield has been?

Q: Just a follow up to my question about the drop in Alaris today. So an analyst at NA drops his/her target price and the stock drops 10%? Was there any specific reasoning behind the downgrade and where would an investor get that information? If there is no fundamental change to the companies business, why would investors sell out of their positions? I have heard portfolio managers comment that they don't pay any attention to "price targets" and base their decisions on their own analysis and the fundamentals of each company they invest in. As you have said before, there are always 2 sides to each trade but it seems a lot of people react to an opinion and sell before they done any checking. Your comments please.

Q: With the election result in Alberta do you see this as reason to buy into energy stocks now? Not that we can predict this falls federal election but it does seem like voters may be seriously looking at the harm done by both Notley and Trudeau liberals to the energy sector. Any thoughts related to this given the Cdn energy sector has been a terrible play for quite some time. Would appreciate your thoughts on this situation.

Q: HI Guys:
I bought this fund two years ago as part of fixed income side of our portfolio.The distributions have been reinvested in the fund since I bought, the fund currently trades 1% under book value, the fund is 75% bonds and 25% equities, MER 1.04%. Distributions this year look to be around 1.5% if the recent distribution is consistent for the rest of the year. I'm looking at an investment in QLTA which would give me US diversification and is a pure corporate bond fund with a monthly yield 3.1%. I've never been a bond investor usually equities and cash I'm thinking to sell SIF120 and put the money into QLTA for the distribution and a lower MER 0.15%. I realize this may not be apples to apples and higher risk with currency and corporate bonds, would you have a concern with this approach, or any other bond ETF's that are worth consideration the money is in a RRIF account.

Q: Hi Peter and Ryan,
We currently have a 3% position in ZWE as our only European exposure. Currently we are down 6.6% on the ETF but only 3.8% when taking dividends into account (nice dividend). What is your opinion of investing in Europe? Do we retain the ZWE ETF, switch to a different ETF, or exit Europe due to financial and economic headwinds? We will cash in 3% yearly from our RRSP portfolio in 5 years.

Q: Hello I am wondering what has been moving this stock lately I cannot find anything? What your thoughts are on this company future growth? New Canadian tech darling? Q: Hi, thank you for the article on international stocks and the portfolio analytics.
I am now trying to decrease my Canadian home bias (40% to 25%) by increasing my international exposure (20% to 35%) and maintaining my US at 40%. My wife and I own XWD, VE and XEF in our TFSAs. I was thinking of selling XWD and adding VEE or VWO (RRSP) and/or VDU or VEA (RRSP). The switch to RRSP additions is to benefit from US withholding tax exemption.

Could I have your thoughts on the above changes. Is there too much overlap in owning all four ETFs? Could I simplify to one, two or three?

Q: Can you give a quick comparison of these 3 ETF’s ? For dividend income and security, long term hold, should I own all 3 , if not explain why and in which order would you buy ?

Thank you for answering my question of April 16 about my wife's TFSA. Among ENGH, SIS and NFI, you suggested to sell NFI. What about TOY which is the only stock showing 9% unrealized loss in her account? Between TOY and NFI, which one should she sell or trim or do selling and trimming on both for a long-term investor?
