Q: Could you please comment on Pl recent earnings. Also do you think the hit today on VMD is over done as the adjustments were prior period adjustments which probably means the accountants are giving a harder look at current financial statements. The earning were weaker but he Revenue growth was very strong although the net income was weak. The emphasis at this point in this young company their focus should be on growth and the are nearing the $100 million run rate which should bring in new investors..

Q: Assuming we get a rate cut of 0.5% by Poloz tomorrow, or, over the next few months, how bad will that impact CIBC's NIM and can we estimate the hit on their earnings? Is one bank more exposed to NIM than others? Regional banks are not reacting well right now. Thank you.
Q: Hi there. It seems like in this Coronavirus hysteria nobody is excited about testing or treating cancer based on the trading of Guardant and Exact sciences. Do you like the current levels as a nice entry point for a speculative and long term position in each? It seems oversold unless I am missing a fundamental problem. To put a sharp point on the question, are they good buys today?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: I know you don't follow US companies that closely but what are your thoughts on this one ? I'm an RBC client and they have an outperform rating on it and a target of $102.00 USD. I recently purchased it around $80.00 USD only to see it drop to $64.00. Thoughts on a recovery ?

BMO Laddered Preferred Share Index ETF (ZPR)
Q: You are right when you say preferred shares are not bonds, they fall fast in a bad market.
Would it be wise to add a modest amount of ZPR or CPD during this period and take the dividend for a while? This would be in an RRSP

Q: Hi Peter,
Do you see Kinaxis as a company that will benefit from the coronavirus outbreak? I would expect manufacturers to heavily invest in their supply chain system after seeing the disruption that the virus has caused. Thoughts?
Thanks so much,
Tait

Q: I don't own a REIT in my portfolio. Do you think now is a good time to buy a REIT that may be beaten up and are REIT's looking good for the coming years with expected lower interest rates? What is your fav REIT you would buy right now, I like high ROIC if possible but open to your advice. Thx

Q: I noticed a number of questions recently concerning STC and I thought your members may be interested in the response I received when I asked my Hedge Fund (who follow the stock closely and are bullish) about the recent results:
We thought the STC quarter was strong. Gross profits were up 20% YoY and cash earnings were up 89% YoY. They lowered revenue guidance but increased EBITDA guidance.
Recurring revenue (service business) as a % of revenue
20% in 2018
30+% in 2019
40-50% in 2020
*Margins have followed suite
The conference call was very informative and the focus continues to be growing recurring revenues and profits
Feel free to publish this if you think it is of value.
Cheers

Q: I recall that during the crash of 2008 some pundits recommended that a good entry point was when the price of a blue-chip stock fell to where it yielded a 4% dividend. I’m assuming this meant that the yield was better than potential interest that could be earned on bond prices during a flight to “safety”. If I’m somewhere near accurate with this statement and given the low interest rate environment we are in, what, in your opinion should today’s investor be looking for in terms of a yield target for dividend-paying Blue-chips, assuming the market is going to continue to decline? Thanks
Q: Now that it's public, selling for below the offering price, does it look OK for a longer term investment?

Q: Hello 5i
I've never participated in a Dutch Auction before. Is it likely if I submitted my shares at say $42 they would be purchased? If so, in this market, there is a good chance I can buy them back for less than $42 on one of the many market dips we are seeing. I might be able to gain 5+% in the process. Your thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Dave
