Q: I’ve held Dollarama for a few years now and have a small loss while other stocks in similar space like Five Below performed very well. Is it time to make a switch? I know you generally like DOL but every time it gets close to my break even it drops again. How would you compare DOL and FIVE?

Q: Hello Team,
Could you comment on Visa? I understand it is a good solid holding but it has not gone anywhere in the last 12months... Time to buy?
Thanks!

Q: Hi Guys
I believe in the space REIT's you prefer apartment and Industrial REITS these days. Looking at the Industrial REITS can you let me know which company you would prefer today given their current valuations and stock price they are trading at? I am looking at a long term hold - so out at least 5 years, and looking at total return, hopefully a nice dividend but also a track record of increasing dividend and a solid management team.
Thanks so much
Stuart

Q: I have a target allocation of 40-45% for total portfolio US exposure. Which ETFs would you suggest (either currency) to form the core of this allocation? Could you also please provide a handful of individual US picks to supplement. Aiming for long term growth with 20+ yr time horizon. Thanks!
Q: Hi 5i
The FCF that Birchcliff is projecting is really great. In the past it was considered a potential takevover candidate. Is that still the case and who operates in the same area that might be interested?
Thanks

Q: Hello team,
With Chinese flocking to their theaters as a sign of what is to come post Covid, do you think the pent up demand in Canada will save CGX? Or is CGX now too debt laden and too risky for investors to bother?
I don't like speculation so I guess I want to know if the worst is over and this is a real investment opportunity in a company which now has enough time to overcome its misfortunes and see better days ahead.
What is a good entry point if you want to play?
Thanks a bunch as always!

Q: Would appreciate your comments on the recent price moves for both Denison Mines and Quarterhill. I have been a long term holder of both at higher costs and would like your thoughts on continuing holding or moving on to greener pastures!!
Q: Texas Methane & Flaring Coalition seeks to end methane flaring (Houston Chronicle Feb 10/20).
Does QST have a presence in Texas?
What competitors does QST have when a producer searches for a solution?
Thank you, I have a 1/2 position already.

Q: Can you comment on BL earnings. They look good. What do you see for the company over the next couple of years? Is it a buy at the current price?
Q: Plea.se comment on Telus results.
Also, I know your two preferred companies in the Canadian telco space are Telus (growth) and BCE (income). I ran a comparative chart for T, BCE and CCA, the results are overwhemingly in favour of CCA at every timeframe (1 month, 3month, 1 year, 3 year and especially 5 year). Excluding dividends CCA is up 80% on the 5 year vs. T at 35% and BCE down 4%. YTD CCA is up 18% and BCE is flat in this very strong market. Is there something in the risk profile of CCA that I may be missing? Any thoughts on why CCA has been so strong YTD.
Thanks for the great service.

Q: Hello, this is a CDN-listed ETF, is there any tax issues (WHT) having it in a TFSA? It gives large-cap exposure to the US market, and non-hedged. Can ZSP be considered solid enough to be a core holding in a person's ETF basket?
Q: I already have QBTC. I have read that a canadian Bitcoin etf BTCC is starting feb 18th.
Which is the better way to invest in bitcoin?
This is what the globe said about BTCC.
BTCC has a 1-per-cent management fee and will invest in the physical form of bitcoin rather than futures that would allow investors to speculate on the price at a later date. The fund will track the TradeBlock XBX Index, which uses an algorithm to calculate the consolidated price of bitcoin every second.

Q: 5i's Growth Portfolio has a position in XBC, maybe that's what a member was referring to? It has done extremely well, another great position by your team.
Q: I have done well with this stock in my TFSA but have trouble knowing when to sell this momentum play. Do you look at technicals , ie. volume, RSA ? Do you look at market attitude towards the sector, ie. what’s hot what’s not ? Do you consider portfolio composition ? Recognizing this money is for speculation, not investing, what would you do if YOU owned it with a 45% TFSA weighting ?Thanks Derek
Q: Hi,
I also held on to the LTRX shares that I rec'd via ITC because they have been in business for a long time, their products are in a diverse range of industries, the SaaS and IoT aspects and a big backlog. I interpret the backlog as partly due to factors beyond their control so this could be a negative.
You stated in a previous answer that good growth is expected this year. Do you still see good growth and what is your take on the recent results? Thank you.

Q: Do you see a upside potential in these companies, i.e doubling of stock from their current positions ?
Q: Hello 5i. Do you have a position in xbc?

Q: A while back, I bought some shares of Shopify that were trading in the US stock market. Last December, sold them for a nice profit. I'm presently preparing my income tax returns including form T1135 in which I must declare all foreign shares held in 2020, along with any capital gains/losses resulting from the sale of said shares. Given that Shopify domiciled in Canada but trades in both Canada and the US, should I declare the holding as well as the capital gains that resulted from its sale? Robert
