Q: Hello,
I bought VEON as a purely speculative trade, with the intention of jumping out quickly on any decent gain. In your estimation is there anything fundamentally compelling about the stock that would suggest it is good for a long term hold? Or should my original plan hold? Thank-you.

Q: I own the following Canadian Stocks in my RRSP and TFSA and 20% is in cash to invest when there are opportunities in the market.

Which ones from the above list would you pick as your Top 3 choices to add to at today's prices, and the reasons why you like them.

Are there any on the list above that you would consider selling and the reasons why.

Thank You.

Q: Thanks for the recent report on FSV. I am attracted to this name, but could never persuade myself to buy because of valuation. I am hopeful that one day I'll pull the trigger.

However, two risks that you mention - somewhat slim margins and low barriers to entry - make me hesitate a bit. In a prolonged bear-market / struggling economy, how would you see FSV perform compared to the competition? Would margins compress even more in that situation, and maybe risk losing major contracts? Or are their competitors weaker in that environment, and perhaps this would provide FSV with an advantage ? Any thoughts on this ?

Q: In anticipation of a possible recession in the near future, I would like to slowly tweak a few of my holdings. Could you please list some of the best sectors to hold in a recession, and if possible, list a few excellent Canadian companies in each sector and perhaps some US stocks. What may be the worst sectors to hold in a recession? Sorry, this is a big question, but one that I think many members may be thinking about.
Thanks!

Q: Thanks for your previous answer on the share split in these companies. However, I have one final question. Should I deduct the book value of the spin off shares of pmz.un from the original book value of the HR.un shares to come up with an accurate picture?
