Q: Hi Team;
I was thinking of adding to MDA in my cash account. As luck would have it, I had just bought in near peak and am down 20% in a week. Is this a good day to average down? Or would you be inclined to wait until next week?
Also, I am funding my RSP account for the year with 10K. I was thinking about MSFT for this purchase. Would you consider it a good buy today? In my mind it compares to GOOG a couple years ago when it was pulling back on unjustified fears. I am hoping for a similar recovery within a couple years.
As a third question, more generally, with the VIX hovering right near 30 is now a good time to start picking away at the market in general? Or wait for further destruction? Do you have a "shopping list" to share with us for your favorite names to buy if the VIX spikes further into market fears? Also, will 5i set up a "special report", so to speak if there is a crazy spike as to when to start "pulling the trigger" if chaos happens? I recall you did something similar in 2020 during covid when the markets were in free fall and your timing if I remember right was probably within a week of the market turnaround at that time. Great job!

Q: Hi 5i,
1). Disregarding company size, type etc. but looking for growth, if one were to buy any of the above noted stocks (MU, COHR, ASML, TER, LRCX, AMAT and ELVA) what buying order would you place them in?
2). And for the top 3 stocks why would you consider them your top 3?
3). Would you rank them any differently if oil prices were to remain elevated for say longer than 2 months, which may have an impact on certain companies more than others?
Thanks!

Q: I've noticed there is a divergence on many days between the performance of Canadian and American oil and gas stocks. Today, for example, many Canadian oil stocks are down. XEG is down .86% on the day. All the American O&G ETFs are up, most fairly strongly. What accounts for this?
Q: I think I agree with Eric Nuttal that we have not yet seen the full impact of the middle east problems and that energy supplies will be tight for at least a few years. But seriously, who can really predict anything geopolitical these days?
In any case, if this is correct, would you be inclined to dump big energy consumers (e.g. NTR - which you like, and I own) in favour of energy producers? If so, would you go with oil & gas or renewables? Large caps or smaller caps? Suggestioned names most welcome!

Q: What is causing the big drop in MU?
Q: I'm getting very nervous. Do you think that Micron is still a "lay up"? I think margin will be intact for at least the next couple of quarters, but what do you think of their longer term expectation (eg the next two years? How low can it go before it stops cratering?

Q: I bought this ETF in January 2025 thinking that the Trump administration would be good for the financial sector. I am down 7+% and the ETF is down almost 13% YTD. My logic dosn't appear to be all that logical! What do you think of this ETF? Buy, sell, hold? Any better suggestion?

Q: I am having difficulty understanding what benefits will accrue to a) Tomson or b) shareholders as a result of the return of capital being proposed by Tomson together with the corresponding share consolidation. I have never considered a reverse split to be a positive sign for a company's future. Why is deal any different?
Q: I’ve been putting some money into oil and gas stocks and energy service names over the last couple of weeks. That was a timely blog post on EFX yesterday, and my question relates to that company and PSI. Given the current elevated oil price environment, do you have a preference between the two (this question bakes in an assumption that you still like PSI, given that it’s in the portfolio, but correct me otherwise), or do you view them as complementary enough that owning both would be appropriate? If you do favour one over the other, please explain why.
Q: I have been following this small cap for a few months now and would love your thoughts and analysis of this very small cap miner?
