Q: For exposure to copper specifically and base metals generally, which of LUN or FCX would be the play for 2-3 year hold with growth and income in mind? Or, would you have another preference over these two? Also, could you suggest a preferred base metal etf to consider? Thx

Q: Who should i focus on for copper. Manageable debt to survive any economic down turn, mining in stable political countries, low cost production, reasonable life of current mine(s) for future supply. Trading on the Canadian exchanges With EV etc I expect supply of copper will be another metal that will be in short supply but will have its ups and downs in the short term.
Q: What copper producer would be your recommended vehicle for a five year hold?

Q: Can you please give us your recommendations on Nickle, Cooper and Platinum stocks and ETF for both Markets.
I heard above will be key in EV and green energy. Supply will be low so prices will go up. What are your thoughts.
Can you also provide your recommendations on Mining, Chemical Processing, Battery Component Production and Battery Cell Production stocks and ETF in both Markets.
Thanks for the great service you have been providing to small investors at reasonable price.

Q: I'm thinking of taking some positions in base metals companies. I'm especially interested in copper plays as it seems to be needed to support the drive to electrification. Do you think this is and opportune time to initate positions? In any case, I would appreciate it if you would share some of your favorite companies in this sector and it would help if you would present them in order of most upside to least going forward. I'm open to metals. other than copper as well.
Q: I am looking at either one of these companies for my first foray into materials. Would be for a TFSA. Which would be your pick and why ? Is now the time to buy or wait 3 to 6 months ?
Thanks. Derek
Thanks. Derek
Q: 5i has commented positively regarding Lundin Mining in the past noting its strong balance sheet, valuation, and healthy dividend. On March 27, Lundin Mining announced that it has entered into a binding purchase agreement with JX Nippon Mining & Metals to acquire 51% of the issued and outstanding equity of SCM Minera Lumina Copper Chile. Mr. Market seems to love the deal if today's trading is any indication. Is 5i similarly enthusiastic about the deal?
Thank you as always for your expertise.

Q: Hi there,
Lundin has good mines and good ones coming on line in the next 2-3 years. The growth potential is good. Why the stock is a good buying opportunity. Is the dividend safe and can it grow. Is their business model still good. Rick Rule has great compliments of the Lundin family. In advance, thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Q: Hi,
I have about 8% of my portfolio in WPM, LUN, DPM and FCX. Wondering if you think I should add 3% in steel?
If so, which US or CDN companies would you recommend? STDL seems to have the best long term returns but I've heard their earning are expected to go down next year?

Q: Can you give me the names of the 3 biggest copper producers in Canada. Which would be your buy,

Hudbay Minerals Inc. (Canada) (HBM $24.97)
Q: My third question today!! Hope you don't mind the blitz of questions! What's up with copper miners. The share price of the copper miners I own have moved up substantially in 2023 although copper is not up that much. I have ARG for their debt free balance sheet and juicy dividend, Lundin for a large miner with a good dividend and HBM which i tend to trade since it appears to me to be irrationally volitile. I like the copper mining space long term but I do trade portions of positions because of the extreme volitility. I am thinking of taking some profits in HBM (virtually no dividend) and keeping LUN and ARG. What do you think of this strategy? Who do you like in copper miners and why?
Q: Would you please advise if LUN and HBM are worth purchasing. Which Canadian material stocks would you recommend
Q: I see for various reasons you favour these two copper companies. Considering the setback First Quantum has had in Panama, how would you rate country risk for LUN and CS? Thanks
