Q: Could you please recommend your preference b/w these two? (Buy and hold for 5-10 year timeframe).
Also, if I wanted to increase my USD exposure, could I not purchase either one of these inside a US TFSA without paying any withholding tax on the dividend? Both pay a USD dividend I believe.
Thanks,
Q: Hello 5i,
Peter asked a question about Norbert's Gambit for RBC specifically. I have just completed two Norbert's today, one each way, using D.I. and will post to the Forums. If Peter is interested, he can check the forums for my post and then ask any questions he may have.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Mike
Q: Jumia had a great run up ... but has recently has been crushed.
At around $26 now, would you consider the risk reward to favour buying it here or would you expect further declines?
Q: I don't fully understand Crypto Currency/Coins. I have asked many people I can't understand why it valued the way it is and it seems like the new Tulipmania.
I somewhat understand blockchain, but I don't how value of that technology will be in the end, but some explained to me that the coins somewhat get/pay to be on the blockchain which might be good for certain things and companies.
This craze looks speculative and not really an investment, but does it make any sense to put a small amount of mad money into a few crypto's or is it just a matter of time before the house of cards comes crumbling down.
Out of Topicus, goeasy or BRP inc, if you had to pick one... which stock would you “top up” hoping for the best one year gain?
Roku... your thoughts as it is down from 480 to 300. It had some huge gains and even at 300 it’s a big winner but it’s a big drop and I feel it’s overall trajectory as a company has only gotten stronger with recent acquisitions plus the overall move to streaming for consumers and companies alike, plus advertising potential growth etc. Thoughts on topping it up for 5 year growth I don’t see many better opportunities especially for potential for a quick turnaround within 1 year. (earnings tomorrow should be interesting in this market).
Q: I am interested by growth companies that have a lot of potential, and preferably relatively secure and not extremely volatile. I thought of the following companies: LSPD, NVEI. TOI, GSY, TAIG and LEV. If you would have to buy those companies, in what order would you buy them. Feel free to include other ones that are not on this list or exclude some of these if you think that they are not appropriate.
Q: Can you please comment on Equitable's recent quarterly results. How does their valuation now compare to others in the financial services sector? It appears to have been another very strong quarter with their CET1 ratio now close to, if not, higher than the big 5 banks. I know 5i prefers GSY but I'm wondering why EQB doesn't get much love considering their very strong track record of earnings and dividend growth.
