Q: I am currently in the negative on T, AMZN, TTD, TCN, NVEI, CPRX, ATZ, ENGH, LSPD, ABNB, WELL, BEP.UN, ROKU, ILMN, SE, PINS, and ZM. I have a 10+ year outlook, however would like to know based on the company and growth potential, what would you Sell or Hold? And if a Hold, please advise your perspective. Thanks!!

Q: Hello, I am down 25%+ on all of these companies and looking to do some tax loss selling prior to yearend. Can you order these companies in terms of what you would sell first? Would you rank these companies as Sells or Holds (or even Buys)? I am a long term investor, not a trader, so I'm hesitant to sell only to rebuy later, or to average down. I have some ability to do a tax loss carry back to recoup some of my losses from prior years (plus minimize my 2023 taxes).

Q: My question from October 10, 2023.
“Everyone, I have held LSPD since the summer of 2019 and I bought and sold throughout the last 24 months. My remaining amount is less than 2% so not a significant amount of $. They have $700 million plus in cash; they call EBITDA positive this year; they reduced the head count which lowers expenses; interest rates will be increased once or twice then a wait period and then a slow decline. All positives for the stock price. And the Quebec Pension still owns a large block of shares - they haven’t given up! The stock price seems to have held at this price range, so there is no real material downside risk. SQ and Toast are in the same stock price position, an industry decline not a stock specific decline. In a better market this stock will quickly do a triple from here.. So … buy and wait … or… move on? Clayton”
This past year LSPD has been in a trading range of $17 ish to $15 ish. Today it has moved above that range with heavy volume. Is it time to buy or wait! If you are waiting, what are you waiting for?

Q: I'm down a fair amount in registered plans after holding each of the 13 listed stocks for some time. Please rate in terms those that are worth keeping as the prospects are good vs those where it's probably time to cut losses and move on. Timeframe of 5 years before starting to draw down from portfolio.

Q: I hold the 3 following positions : SHOP (3%), LSPD (1.5%) with a 30%loss and NVEI (1%) with a 65% loss.
I want to clean a bit my portfolio, and clear at least one of NVEI or LSPD.
In which one would you prefer to consolidate? Would you even consider consolidate all in Shop or there’s a good case for keeping NVEI or LSPD?

Thank you!

Q: Hello Peter,
Would the fintech stocks be classified under technology stocks similar to Amazon, Google, etc or are they seen as more financial ? if there is a rotation out of tech, would the fintechs be hit accordingly? Thanks very much

Q: Everyone, I am interested in a small cap growth stock with big upside - high risk - what would you suggest? With the understanding that I could lose everything. I have a small position in cash and I don’t like having cash. Clayton

Q: Hello, I have some money to deploy and have picked the above lucky 13 stocks. Are you able to put them in order in which you would purchase them (1 to 13). I know there is a wide range of companies, industries and cap size. This would be in a cash account and looking for capital gains over the next 3 years. I'm okay with lots of risk in this account.

Q: Like most I have some options("dogs")for tax loss selling.

In which order would you sell the above? and I assume you would not buy any of them back at this point in time?

Thanks,

Terry

Q: The following stocks have fallen below 1% in my portfolio.

From your previous answers/responses I assume it is best not to add to these?

Since they are under 1% is it best to sell, or is it best to stay the course and see if they recover over time.

They are all in registered accounts so no tax losses.

As well I have very small position in BAM due to the split. I have added to BN. Should I just let the small position ride or is it best to sell and add to BN or something else?

Thanks.

Q: My TFSA has been pathetic due to a severely depressed share price of Lightspeed, down 60 %, and the remaining 4 stocks remaining flat over 5 years.

I'm considering selling them all and starting over. I have at least a 5 year time frame.

Which 4 or 5 Canadian or US stocks would you recommend to boost my returns?

Secondly, would you double up on Lightspeed, keep it, on or let it go?

It is 25 % of my TFSA.

Q: As a longterm underwater holder could you please evaluate the quarter. Is this enough positive momentum to begin to undo the mistakes of the past? Is this a positive enough quarter to suggest they are turning the corner due to recent structural changes involving the move to in-house payment processing? Does this give you new hope for the company going forward?

Q: Except for CTS, ATZ, SHOP and LAC all of these, once darlings, are below where they were 5 years ago and all of them are down sharply from their all-time highs. Can you provide your thoughts on which, if any, of these stocks will be able to get back to their old highs and a guess on when. Also, please identify your top picks (ones that you are sure will survive and thrive in the next 2 to 3 years) and your bottom picks (ones that are destined to struggle for years). They don’t all need to go into those two groups, as the future of some of them may be fuzzy. A sentence or two on why you placed these stocks in these groups would be appreciated. Thanks

Q: Hello Peter
Any idea why Nu Bank holdings is surging as compared to NVEI, LSPD, PYPL etc. Is it because Warren Buffet owns shares in the company? Is it worth starting a position?

Q: I understand that information technology stocks maybe "cyclical". Like for example, TTD may be more cyclical because it leans into communication for retail stocks. But for many, I'm having a difficult time deciding whether the above stocks are heavily, moderately or lightly cyclical. Please let me know how you would rate them for these 3 categories. Thanks for the help and please deduct credit that you consider is right for the work needed to answer my question.........Tom
