Q: What are your thoughts on Nutrien? I have seen it recently recommended by a few as an entry point for a recovery with a dividend. I have never invested in this company but have thought about it and have always been happy I did not invest in it as it has dissapointed.
Q: There was a recent reverse head and shoulder pattern along with two days of higher share volume than the ten day average. I will be adding shares if the share price climbs above $34.50. Also, I will be adding to my share count ( that was a full position before the recent pull back) and will be for a long term hold.
Your thoughts.
Clayton
Q: Greetings. In the past u have spoken positively of FSZ. Has your appraisal of this CO. changed or do/can You still recommend it as a buy today. Many thanks, Joseph.
Q: In response to an earlier question you indicated that Horizons would be converting HXS and other ETF's to a corporate structure because of federal government action. Would this new structure be suitable for an RRSP? I am looking for a Canadian ETF invested in US equities for a registered account where I do not lose the withholding tax and also like Horizon products thus far. Thanks.
Q: I would like to add to my position on this, but am concerned about the valuation.
According to Morningstar, consensus forward P/E is 17.67.
BUT, the TTM earnings are $2.24 per share. If the forward P/E is correct, the forward earnings would have to be north of $5 per share, which doesn't seem to me to be realistic.
What do you think is the forward P/E? If it is over 20, I would likely look elsewhere.
John
What would be your top 10 picks (ranked in order if possible) going forward for an
1. Income portfolio
2. Balanced portfolio
3. Growth portfolio (low-mid risk)
Q: Since TMTD US has no trading commissions now. Would it be better to open up a trading account for US stocks? Thus, switch or cancel my TD Waterhouse (Canadian) account in US dollars with $9.99 trading commissions on US stocks?
Q: Air Canada has demonstrated very good EPS growth and ROE for some time. Their stock has had a modest pullback, August through September, but seems to be gaining momentum again. Air Canada has the 2nd largest fleet of Max 737 in the world. Why wouldn't the grounding and route cancellations affect results. Q1 and Q2 results beat estimates. Q3 results, typically the largest reporting period, is due October 29. Do you think it will affect Q3 results? Would you take position now or wait until after October 29.
Q: MFC looks like a screaming buy on most metrics. Especially compared to historical valuation metrics. Would you prefer this over a bank and Why so cheap? Thank-you.
Q: We are presently holding:
Brookfield Infrastructure = 4%
Brookfield Renewable Energy =3%
Brookfield Properties =1%
of a total low seven figure RIF (mine) and RSP (Wife's) portfolio.
In your opinion is a combined total of 8% too high and or would I be better off switching all to BAM ? Normally I do not allow more than 5% to any one company.
Your opinion would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Q: Is Teine Energy financially sound, and has it been a consistently solid, private energy producer over the years? Does 5i consider them to be a good, and sustainable, partner for Freehold Royalty? Thank you for your comments.
