Q: Happy New Year to all at 5i!!!!! I have both of these ETFs in an unregistered account. I have held them for a while. XWD seems to be out performing XEF. I am tidying up my portfolio and am contemplating conglomerating XEF with XWD, and I would welcome your thoughts on this move.

Q: BEPC is down 18.54% and BIPC is down only 7.73% over the past year. This is quite a difference given that they are both utilities. Can you tell me the difference between them in terms of what they invest in, safety, and expected growth? If you were to add to one, which one would it be, if any?

Q: My question about Perseus Mining is why the stocks is growing so slow. We have gold consistently going up, productions is increasing, net income growing, good balance sheet (I believe) and started to pay a dividend to shareholders (I believe in the last 2 years). Will Perseus continue to grow and is the management is strong. Also, will gold price continue to rise with all the chaos in the world. Thank you. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.

Q: I have 6000 shares bought around $23.00 of tpz. Div. is $1.20 a year. Key. recently bought major purchase from Plains and upgraded to buy. Dividend is $1.92 a year. Your opinion of both companies please. At current prices would you sell tpz and buy key.?

Q: We have been keeping in cash the proceed of the sale of a condo. what would you suggest for a conservative growth ETF in canadian currency. That would represent 10% of our equities holdings. Looking for more growth than yield, as this would be in a non registered account. We would like something all in one, as I do not want to add more names to the list of equities we have.

I agree that ‘before’ is key. Would good stocks for this strategy be Shop and Goeasy? What others do you suggest for contrarian bullish investors?

Q: Just a follow up to my previous question on the above. I checked with Quadravest and I can tender my preferred at the lesser of $10.00 or the NAV if it's less than $10.00 on December 1/24. According to the last NAV of $15.62 we have 56% downward protection. Given that it holds the 15 biggest companies on the TSX with dividends would you agree that it would be a fairly safe investment with a 9.8% return over the remaining 23 months to maturity?

Q: when momentum was in vogue price to sales was a favourite measuring stick for valuing tech companies. so it would seem to make sense to apply this metric in the current environment. accordingly what are the historical metrics for MSFT GOOG. AMZN and what are the latest price to sales metrics for these 3 companies. thanks Richard

Q: US stocks in my RRSP: I strongly believe that 2023 shall be another year with high volatility, for numerous reasons (world economy ,geostrategic factors,debts,China
slowdown,etc..).In this perspective,I increased the proportion of US covered call ETF using call options on 100% of portfolio in order to : 1) reduce volatility et 2) maintain significant dividends during this coming period.When the market will stabilise ,I will reduce the % of these ETF in order to increase the % of Cies stocks and of "conventional ETFs".Please comment this strategy ,plus your point of vue will be appreciated since I know that "no one can predict the future" ! regards,J-Y
