Q: Hello,

Looking to start a position in one of these companies. Good entry point?

I believe the CFO of GM recently indicated they will be buying back quite a few shares, and will continue to do so (if share price remains undervalued). Can I get your opinion on both? Looking to hold for a long time.

Thank you.

Q: Hello 5i Team

Is it possible to provide a collation / compendium posted on 5i Research of all the articles Peter has written in the Financial Post? Or is 5i prohibited by Post Media because of copyright laws?

It is not user friendly to search the internet to read all of the articles.

This would be a good job for a summer / co-op student if such a person exists at 5i Research.

Thanks in advance.

Q: does it make sense for a buy and hold investor to sell and buy back high growth stocks to spread out the income tax or is that unwise?

Q: I've decided to buy VIG and SCHD to increase my US portion of my portfolio. What is a fair entry point for them? I tend to wait until stocks go "on sale" but have watched these go up and up over the last few months. VIG's top holdings are Apple and Microsoft, so if the Tech sell-off continues it could go down. SCHD has not hit it's all time high but is getting close. What are your thoughts? Thanks so much!

Q: Just wondering about these pipeline companies and longevity. Are these companies to own and forget or they tied to oil and gas as a commodity so hence has a limited run? What is your outlook on them? I have done very well with WMB over 4 years, and wondering if I should leave it be say for another year or two, add, or sell. Bought ENB. this year for the Div and wondering how you see this stock as well. Thank you.

Q: I have noticed MAL stock price moving upward a bit. I am seeing a $16 price target. I've been waiting patiently for this stock to recover so I can sell it, since it cut it's dividend. What is your 6-12 month outlook on it? I bought it just under $10 - would you continue to wait until I can realize my price, even make a small profit or sell? Thanks so much.

Q: Shocking how this bank keeps underperforming its peers. As of this writing the only big Canadian bank in the red. Any cause for concern here? I like the dividend. But not if my capital erodes… I own this along with EQB and RY which have done fantastic so it’s not to bad. What is the payout ratio on BNS relative to its peers in Canada? Thanks.

Q: NVEI has extended until April 1st 2025 for holders to decide on options for the buyout. This means that the privatization would have taken about a year from the announcement in March 2024. It looks stretched. Could there be hurdles we are not seeing, financing for example? Or the structure of the company makes it difficult? Just curious ..Thanks a lot.
