Q: Could you please rank these according to your expectation of best mid-to-long-term return?

Q: Any company specific reason for the recent strong stock performance? How were their most recent quarterly results? Do you still view this name as a long term winner?

Q: I'm interested in an ETF - BANK-T - that holds mostly Canadian banks and major financial companies. I'm surprised that it's yield is about 14%+, and pays out monthly too. That seems to be too good to be true.

My question is how can BANK-T do it, consider the ETFs can only get cash from two sources - dividends from the stocks they hold and from trading gains of those stocks.

Kindly enlighten us on how they can afford to pay such hefty monthly payout? Thanks.

Q: Hello to 5 i's. I have a small position in SVM (silver crest metals) which was nicely in the green until recently and then late last week it took a big hit to the downside with the announcement of some financing to build out a new mine and a new juristriction (equador). The financing is convertible debt due in 2030 at 4.75 per cent. The stock has to go up about 30 per cent until it can convert to equity. It doesn't seem too bad for me but it seems there are people much smarter than me who sold with that announcement. Do you think the debt that SVM secured is not appropriate/or there is a better way to finance? Or are people selling for another reason, such as , exposure to Equador is too risky/SVM has built 8 mines and 3 processing plants only in China and have no experience in Latin America/ less bullish on precious metal pricing on a go forward basis, or some else? I am tempted to double my small position since the company has no debt (actually they are net cash on the balance sheet and minority equity position in New Pacific Metals, and they operate profitably. does 5 i think SVM, at current share price, is a good option for silver mining exposure?

Q: On November 14 , a question asked by Trevor 5i said that IUSG could be a buy and forget ETF .Is this etf also in Canadian currency and if not what would you recommend as alternative?

Q: Four members of Bell Canada’s board of directors took advantage of the telecom giant’s stock drop to buy shares. CEO Mirko Bibic purchased shares worth just over $200,000, while Louis Vachon, former CEO of National Bank, acquired shares worth nearly $390,000. Calin Rovinescu, former CEO of Air Canada, invested close to $350,000, and Jennifer Tory, a former vice-president at RBC, over $170,000.. They must see future potential gains in the share price since the only reason to buy shares of a company is to make gains.

Q: For a young investor (18 yrs) making regular contributions to a RRSP, TFSA, and FHSA. Using an all-in-one ETF approach, are there all in one ETF's that are better suited for each of the different accounts? Would an all equity ETF be appropriate in any of these accounts?

What do you think of this suggestion? Can you offer examples?

Q: 1) My 20 ry old son wants to invest his money and seems to have high risk tolerance.. I'm generally more confident in the US mkt rather than the CDN. Is he better off...
a) transferring his CN money into US and taking the 24% hit and selling in 10 years the exchange rate might be...?
b) buying US stocks in their CDN version which is usually hedged?
c) or buying a US stock in a CDN acct and losing the exchange fee when buying and selling?

Q: Any particular reason for the 7% jump in ATS on Friday?

Q: It seems like all tech companies use a lot of of stock based compensation to recruit/retain/reward employees? the way I understand it, if a company reports NON-gaap earnings it does not include stock based compensation but gaap earnings do? Is that correct? Can you briefly explain the impact of SBC on an income statement to a non-accountant or if it is too length direct us DYIers to a website that explains this well. I feel it is something us little investors should have more knowledge and understanding.

Q: PNG is interesting. Can you expand a bit of the statement "Profit fell 29% on higher financing costs". Is this something to be concerned about? Do you forsee it going lower or staying steady in the 2.15 - 2.20 range for a bit until next earnings which could show better numbers?

Q: I have had this stock for a long time. I'm tring to clean up some underperforming stocks in my portfolio. In your opinion is this stock worth holding?

Q: Has 5i screened for US-listed shares that are likely to be candidates for tax-loss selling now to end of year 2024? Has 5i done a blog or magazine article or other post identifying US-companies that you would consider attractive to buy? I assume that such a screen would exclude US companies that are being sold off for reasons other than tax-loss harvesting. Thank you. :ao:sab
