Q: good morning:
just wondering why aqn did not raise dividend at this quarterly release.
that makes 5 quarters without a increase in dividend
anything to worry about
thanks
I thought that an OTC traded share (like TCEHY) was eligible for registered accounts because it is an ADR of a stock that listed on an eligible exchange. I do currently hold some inside an RRSP. Now you have me wondering if this is not correct?
Q: in doing taxes for cap gains and losses in $USF and conversions, can one use the average exchange rate for the year(2017... 1.2986) or does one have to convert individually for each trade?
at the then exch rate?
Q: Good morning:
I own a 3.5% position in Fiera, primarily for the dividend and non-bank financial exposure. I'm puzzled that Fiera has not declared its quarterly dividend yet. As the last dividend was declared in November, I was expecting the next one to come in February. Understanding dividends are at the discretion of the board, I wonder if there is a reason why we don't have the dividend advice, or is this is "just a Fiera thing?"
Thank you and have a fine day!
Geoff
Q: Have Couche Tard on my watch list for a market pullback, but in the back of my mind I'm a little concerned about the long term impact of the switch to electric and/or self driving vehicles. Do you have a sense how much of their revenue is tied to fuel and percentage of their stores tied to gas retail?
Should I be worried about technology disruption here? I tend to hold shares long term if possible.
Q: On 2/28 H&R Announces Suspension of Distribution Reinvestment Plan, what are the possible reason(s) for a company to take that action? Anything to be concerned about regarding the stock/company?
Q: Thank you, 5i Crew, for posting Dan's correction so quickly. I was all set to sell my TCEHY held in my TFSA and RIF first thing Monday morning. So very pleased with your service and delighted members are generous with useful information.
Q: Hello -
I'm looking to add some Canadian large cap stocks that pay their dividends in USD into my USD account. I believe NTR, MG, and TRI are three to consider. Are there any more that you may be aware of?
Thanks.

Q: Current price $40.57(5yr low),6.62% yield(mainly due to drop in price, partly div.growth)& high $66b debt.A rising interest rate environment, which will be further aggravated if Trump impose tariffs.New York Fed Governor W Dudley stated"raising trade barriers would risk setting off a trade war, which could damage economic growth prospects around the world".Recently filed for potential mixed shelf offering. Will be dilutive & negative if sell shares @ such low price(remember CPG which keeps on issuing shares). However it does have $10b non core assets,of which $3/4b are to be sold In 2018.Have not heard of any sale, maybe not getting the desired price. I have 1/2 position @ $49,so add, hold or sell.Txs for u usual great services & views.
Q: I keep reading the traditional fixed income portion of a portfolio that has been allocated to bonds in the past, is a bad idea as a long term investment going forward. With that being said, what type of investments/products would you suggest the average investor allocate the fixed income portion of their portfolio going forward?
Thanks
Q: I would like to diversify my portfolio with a non US International Equity Fund. I have been considering the Mawer International Equity Fund, but am leery of their MER. What are your thoughts and possible options?
Q: Doesn't Tencent Holdings qualify as an eligible investment in a TFSA because it trades on a Designated Stock Exchange? ie. Hong Kong. Even though it also trades over the counter in the U.S. Here is the link: https://www.fin.gc.ca/act/fim-imf/dse-bvd-eng.asp
I checked with Royal Bank Direct Investing before purchasing and it was allowed.
