Q: Currently hold VYM in my US$ RRIF. I note that SDIV has a much higher dividend yield, is that because of it's global exposure? Is the tax treatment the same for both inside the RRIF?

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan, and Team,
NFI is on a real downward spiral lately, and the current yield is 5.368%. It's held in my wife's TFSA, and it's hard to see the almost daily declines, some quite steep, e.g. on July 16. It's down almost 50% now, and am wondering if we should keep it or sell it. I wouldn't add to it at this time. What are your views?

Q: I manage a TFSA for a 26 year old relative, with the following stocks:
GSY, CSU, PHO, KWH-UN, COV, GOOG

With the cash coming from KWH, we are looking to buy. So two questions:
1. Is there any obvious "hole" in terms of sector that we should try to fill?
2. She has indicated a desire for a renewable energy stock. We are considering BEP.UN, AQN, NPI, RNW - which you you choose, or is there another you would suggest instead?

Q: It seems that there has been a steady flow to the exits on Alimentation after the 5 cent miss. P&F chart shows a triple bottom breakdown today . We are down almost $10.00 from the high with a prediction that it is expected to come back 10%. Do you feel that there is something that is changing in their business , or is this profit taking ?

Q: Follow up on BRE.

In the answer to my question, the payout ratio is said to be ~75%.

Page 31 of the company’s Q1/19 report indicates the payout ratio has exceeded 100% for the last 5 years.

Is this an oversight, or is 5i calculating distributable cash differently than BRE management?
