Q: My portfolio is light on industrials as I only own wsp and sis. What else could I add? I'm not comfortable with nfi as I find it expensive. What are 4 or 5 names that you like in the industrial sector. Would a rail company be a good idea as I beleive they fall under industrials.

Q: I am an 87 yr old retiree living on dividend income. I have a reasonable holding of CPG in both my regular investment account and also in my TFSA, both of which are currently in substantial loss positions. Obviously, a recovery is in large part dependent on the price of oil. At my age it doesn't look likely that I will recover my losses. I'm thinking of selling the shares in my investment account & using the loss to shelter some gains. If there is an excess, I may sell some of a profitable holding and then buy those back after the 30 day period [a strategy I have used before]. I'm also wondering if I should bite the bullet and switch my holding in the TFSA to something else. Should I sell now or is there a reasonable chance of a substantial increase in value in, say, the next year.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Q: Do you like the prospects of base metals, even after the recent run up?
What do you think of Xbm at these levels? It's nearly doubled in the past few months. Would you wait for a pullback before entering?
Alternatively, should I buy a basket of 4-5 stocks, and which might you recommend?
Thx

Q: Hi, can I gave your insight on SJ's outlook in a recessionary downturn in North America? Is SJ tied to the coal industry? If yes, would a return to US coal positively impact SJ?
Q: Hi Peter and Team,
I manage my son's TFSA, and have recently almost completed a more appropriate sector allocation. In the Technology space, he has a half position in KXS. What Technology company would you recommend at this point for another half position? I was thinking of CSU but I wish it would split at least 10:1. :) How about SYZ which seems to be on a tear, or do you suggest something else at this point?
Thanks in advance for your valued advice.

Q: ECI had a great quarter yet, the stock has been dropping, my purchase price is $15.58, should I sell?
I have some cash and wondering if it is time to buy some energy stocks. Like to have your advise, thinking pipeline PPL, ENF, SU and or other dividend paying energy stocks you would advise/like.
Many thanks, J.A.P. Burlington

Q: Hi. BNS has dropped while the price of other banks, particular TD, have been rising continually after the US presidential election. At this moment, which bank would you pick to invest and which one has the most potential? Thanks your insight.
Q: Hi,
I would like to initiate a position in one of these 2 stocks and plan on owning both over time. Given that both are down about 15% from their recent highs last month, which one do you think has a better entry point right now?
Thanks for your time

Q: Hi Peter and team
GS announced their year end numbers on Friday. Can you give me your view of their results and in particular, why this stock has sold off so dramatically over the past 3 years. They pay a decent dividend and occasionally a special dividend. Are some investors confusing them with others marketing MF's like Investors Group and CI Financial whose business is in decline?

Q: What's the matter with these very good companies?
Thank you Peter.
Thank you Peter.
Q: Any comments on Q3 results?
Q: could u please send a list of all the best 25,50, and 100 year dividend increase paying stocks and what sector they are in.
Q: Cara shares are dropping precipitously since (seemingly-OK) earnings. Any insight?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: I own 4 Canadian financial institutions (BNS, CM, RY and TD). No exposure to life insurance companies or U.S. financials. I would like to avoid U.S. financials. I find it very hard to trust management and it seems like there is always a scandal at a major U.S. bank. I use to own Wells Fargo thinking it was best in breed and they couldn't even avoid scandal. With the advantage of the CDN dividend and BMO and TD's exposure to the U.S. I prefer to get exposure to the U.S. that way.
My question is whether I should sell CM since it is more exposed to the CDN economy than the others and purchase BMO instead for their U.S. midwest exposure? I am not opposed to getting U.S. banking exposure through an ETF like XLF perhaps. Which strategy do you favour? Each bank is currently 3-4% of my portfolio.
Thanks,
Jason

Q: What do you make of CHH these days? Looks like they are servicing their debt and insiders are buying. Is there potential upside.
Thank You

Q: I am contemplating taking a position in AYA following the offer that Baazov has tabled today. In your view is the current price of $21 an attractive entry point or is the risk not justified?
The market's reaction seems to be one of skepticism given the current discount. Can you outline what factors may be attributing to this discount? Should one be concerned that the financing Baazov has secured is mainly from China (one participant is from Dubai)?
Finally, do you believe Baazov's pending charges will have any bearing on the ability for the deal to go through? Thanks!

Q: Further to my earlier question, I wanted to know about KXS, SHOP, CSU, GIB.A in particular. They were in the companies addressed field but the reply showed MISC.
Thanks for your earlier reply and this one too.

Q: Good Morning.
I would like to buy stocks in this dip. Which would you recommend of the ones I noted or others? As well, a small position in each or full positions? I currently own full positions in SIS, OTC, EFN, ECN, GOOGL and HOT.UN and small positions in TIO and CXI (to name some). I also have a large position in US cash. Any suggestions for it?
Thank you!
