Q: What is your opinion on LYG? Also for the dividend would it have the 15% withholding on it in regular cash account and TFSA? Would it be best to hold this very long term in RRSP to collect entire dividend and hopefully some growth like BAC in the coming years.? Thanks
Q: Just a comment on the answer you gave to the question posed by Kolbi on Llloyds bank. Unless the rules have changed very recently I believe the UK has no witholding tax on dividends paid to foreign residents. UK residents have a $10K dividend tax free allowance (reducing to $4K next year) after which they are taxed 7.5%. Don't feel to sorry for them though, their TFSA is $40K a year!
Q: in your previous answer to me you said you cannot fault knight for not doing a deal.
my question is can you fault them for raising money over a year ago at about 10 dollars, diluting the stock and then doing nothing with the money, this to me is ripping off shareholders, totally unacceptable. i think we all being taken to the cleaners.dave
Q: I am trying to break my need to hold on to my losers. I have held KPT for 4 years with nothing to show other than the dividend. I like the dividends but I don't have need of them at this time and I want something with some growth too. Should I give it up? If so any suggestions for a replacement?
Q: I have a question about XYL - Xylem. I've owned it for quite a while and have a very solid gain. They released earnings today. Can you please comment on the earnings and how rich their valuation is at today's prices?
Q: so knight is turning out be the ultimate dog, everyone including me and 5i is holding knght on the assumption that sooner than later he does a huge deal.
m question is why should we hold it,there are so many great stocks i could buy wth my 12000 shares reduced from 30000 over the last 6 months.
and it is not like he is going to do an amaya deal issuing stock at double its price the day a deal is announced, so i pay 2 dollars more to buy knight when a deals announced, but that could be in years.i feel i am being suckered.
a great money manager that you know said to me about knight, lightning never strikes the same place twice. dave
Q: Portfolio adjustment time. With a very profitable position in this educational / real estate play, do you see any financial gains in the next year or two? As always ..thank you.
Q: I wish to add one more financial to my portfolio. I already have BMO,BNS,TD. I am considering the above companies. Which one would you recommend or do you think it would be better to just add to the ones I already have? Is there another that you would recommend that I should consider?
Q: Hi 5i
With the decline in Kinaxis share price going into earnings tomorrow, would a new purchase at $65 level be a move you would make or would you waiting until release be more appropriate.
By the looks of the volume type, it is us small investors who are dumping the stock share by share.
Q: Just checking: Your answer to James today, stated that VIS had a return of 16.8%. I assume that is simple interest and not compounded? Is that correct?
Q: Please provide the following information on CLR:1)reporting date of next Q earnings 2)Insider ownership, both direct & indirect,3) any recent insider buying 4)short interest & 5)book value(recently you stated that it is trading below book value). Thanks for u usual great services & views
Q: Not to add to several Shopify questions this morning, but I assume that the Citron shorting is significant enough to affect markets. So what, if anything, is know about the volume, trigger prices and holding periods of these shorts? Would it be reasonable to think the stock will be more volatile during the period when these shorts are held, and possibly see upside trend as shorts get close to lapsing?
Q: How serious could Norfolk Southern's lawsuit against Boatright Railroad Products be for SJ? Globe's Report on Business this morning says Boatright sold 5 mn defective ties to Norfolk between 2009 and 2014 - all installed, some on bridges. I believe SJ bought Boatright in June 2014. Are buyers, in this case SJ, protected by the terms of acquisition agreements from negligence and fraud that occurred prior to acquisitions? What about damage to SJ's reputation? I hope SJ not only comes out blameless on this, but takes strong steps to "underline" their commitment to quality.
Thank you.
Edward
Q: Many thanks to Donald the member who gave us a report on his bitcoin experience. I have been pondering an investment but it does sound very risky and complicated. Especially if one is a bit technically challenged.I think I will wait on crypto currency for a while yet.
Q: Hi,
It appears that SHOP beat on earnings and revenue. It is down 10% on the open. Was there any concerns flagged in the conference call or not all concerns addressed from short report? If no concerns do you think it is a good time to add more? My weight in Shop is around 2-2.5% range?
Thanks,
Kerri
