Q: Ignoring any crypto implications (I am decently invested in that area), do you think liberalizing the financial regulations in the US is likely to produce outsized short to medium term gains in that sector? If so, can you recommend a couple of solid names, a couple of speculative names and a couple of ETFs. Thanks again for the great service.

Q: Everyone, if you had a small amount of money, less than $50,000 how many ETF’s (no individual stocks only ETFs) would you have in your portfolio? Some question for amount of money above $100,000. And what sectors would they be in? Clayton

Q: Hi Peter & Team:
I found this Reuters article yesterday:
https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/drugs-fentanyl-shipping/
Long article. It basically states that a very popular method for Fentanyl precursor chemicals to get stateside is via small value packages from China that are classed as “de minimus” and sail through US Customs at LAX airport with little documentation and hardly any inspection. (1 Billion small value boxes every year, think via ebay, etsy, etc most from China, many labeled as “gifts” or “stuff”.

Until a few days ago the de minimus limit for goods entering USA was 800$- it is now ZERO.
This I believe forces better documentation and allows for better inspection options. In Canada our de minimus limit remains at 20$ (at least as I write this note).

Question:
Assuming the de minimus limit for both USA and Canada are both set at ZERO, how will this e-commerce drag affect Shopify or e- commerce in general ?

Thanks for all you do !

Q: I just wanted to say well done to 5i Research. Today I was watching CNBC and someone from Alger Funds was on talking about AI investing. Her name was Ankur Crawford. At the end of the piece, she was asked to give an AI investment. She named Nebius, and said it was completely under the radar, undiscovered, had great potential and "some of the greatest AI engineers in the world." You guys seemed to have beaten the crowd to this one. Now I have to try to buy it as it goes up tomorrow!

Q: I am a 78 year old investor and have been in the stock market for about 50years. As you are aware, that will be many ups and downs. I have yet to witness the recent turmoil caused by Trump which an analyst referred to 'a staggering level' of chaos.
There have been a 'staggering' series of bluster about tariffs affecting the lives of North Americans. I think I have an idea to soothe your younger investors. Who comes to mind when you read the lyrics to a song from the musical/movie 'Chicago' sung so well by Richard Gere?

"Give'em the old dazzle dazzle
Razzle Dazzle 'em

Give'em the old hocus pocus

Give'em the old film flam flummox

Give'em the old three ring circus
Stun and stagger'em
When you're in trouble go in to your dance

Long as you keep'em off balance
How can they spot you've got no talent
And they'll make you a star!

How can they hear the truth above the roar?"

I just finished reading the 5i recommended book "The Psychology of Money" by Morgan House. Timeless lessons on wealth. greed and happiness. It was while reading the section on greed I thought of Trump and Musk and Razzle Dazzle'em.

Q: The company profile shows a dividend yield of 13.8%. Other sites show a modest yield of ~4.5%. 2 yearsago MRG.un paid 6 cents per share and today pays 20 cents which I interprete as a positive reason to own the stock, but I am puzzed why there is such difference inthe yield numbers. As you can tell by my question, I am tempted to buy a position but recognize high yields are often a warning sign. Is 13.8% yield sustainable? I have been burned in the past with this kind of dilemma. Appreciate your thoughts ....thanks
