Q: Does the current panic in the financial sector make FSZ more attractive or less? Should we treat its recent 13% drop as an opportunity, or should we worry that spooked investors will withdraw assets?

Sometimes companies get taken private when their share price is depressed; given such a move, would shareholders likely be the losers? Not so long ago (at $1/share higher), you characterized FSZ as "fine for income"; do you still think so?

Q: For an income, would you recommend this stock. Is there another that you feel would be better for both income and a little upside.

Thanks

Q: Hello 5i
For NTI you have PE at 5.6 and price at $76.87. This would give the EPS at $15.37 Yet you state EPS at $5.00. Why the difference?
Also, for FSZ, using the net income of $58,499 and dividends paid of $88,183 the retention ratio is -50.74. However using Operating Cash Flow of $143,814 there is retention ratio of 38.68%.Thus in the first instance, to cover the dividend there would be increased debt but in the second instance all seems well. Do you prefer using Cash Flow in this instance? Please take as many credits (if any) as required
Thank you

Q: I am a value dividend investor of 77 years, Portfolio analysis says I am over 20% in Financial industry. I hold BAC, BNS, FSZ, JPM, MFC, SLF, TD, X. I am up in all except one and the dividends keep rolling in. I am loath to let any go. If it is needed, please suggest a substitution.

Q: I hold shares of FSZ in My RRIF account. It has not been a good performer but pays a nice dividend which is what I want in my RRIF account. I am thinking of selling FSZ and buying Enbridge. The dividend is not as high but is the growth potential going to make up the difference. I do own PPL. What are the chances of a takeover of FSZ. Would you approve of the swap and is there any other companies you might recommend.

Q: These stocks make up the Financial portion of my portfolio. I would like to concentrate my holdings (just because you have suggested it in the past). V and FSZ are each approximately 1.5% of my portfolio and the others are each around 2.5%.

I am considering selling FSZ and V in order to buy more of the remaining stocks. Would you endorse this move or given the different types of companies represented should I just stay the course? Capital gains would be owing on V and I tend to hold for the long term.

Appreciate your insight.

Q: Can you supply a few suggestions of dividend stocks that may be good to purchase during tax loss selling? Canadian and US if possible.
A few growth stocks would be a good balance to this question as well! Thanks, James

Q: I am a 60+ retired income investor,

I consider the above noted equities to be my riskiest holdings.

About 1,000 each - mostly in my cash account.

I understand SYZ reduced its dividend today and of course the issues with AQN.

Still up on AQN. Underwater on all the rest.

Looking for some advice - sell or hold by holding?

And of course any general comments would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.
