Q: Hi, I sold CROX and ATZ both for a tax loss but both have now come back and seem to have good momentum. Would you be buying either or both of these now? Do you prefer one over the other? They both seem to be moving almost in tandem at this time. Is there another name in the space you like more. Thank you in advance!

Q: Hi!

I am wondering if Peter can take some time to put together some words or a video about the Balanced Equity Portfolio and path forward here. We used to get regular commentary on the Portfolio via appearances on shows like Market Call but now we don't get that anymore due to the BNN change in their rules.

Can Peter walk through where he thinks things are headed, potential to find the next great multibagger stocks for the portfolio, view of the current holdings, etc.?

There's a number of solid long term companies in there. Do we ever see a point where they run their course and we sell them BEFORE they have problems and destroy a bunch of our value (thank god we trimmed some ATZ at $60 a little while ago!).

Q: Greetings:
I recently opted for Broadcom to buy the few VMWARE shares which i held at BMO INVESTORLINE. When the cash arrived in my account they deducted 15% wh tax. This is not a limited partnership, but instead a capital sale. They will not be issuing a dividend slip so I don't know how I will be able to get the tax back. Your suggestions , please.

Q: Hello, I have some money to deploy and have picked the above lucky 13 stocks. Are you able to put them in order in which you would purchase them (1 to 13). I know there is a wide range of companies, industries and cap size. This would be in a cash account and looking for capital gains over the next 3 years. I'm okay with lots of risk in this account.

Q: HI;
Today you had a question from Tim concerning the banks, and their outlook. I would like to buy some BMO; ZEB, however in the fund facts they state that they distribute any realized capital gains in December.
I do not want to get a tax slip for the yearly gains. Is my thinking off course? What do you suggest? , besides buying 6 stocks. If i wait till January , the price may have appreciated a lot.

Q: Looks like the Cdn. Banks may suffer this week on earnings. I am looking to add to my Financial exposure (currently less than 5%) in the next 6 months. Would you start adding now or would you wait given that banks are expected to struggle into early 2024?

I am significantly underwater in these stocks in my TFSA. Should I sell off the little I have left and redirect the funds. I don't need the money at the moment, but also don't want to throw away what is left. Do either of these have a significant future to warrant hanging on?? Cheers, Tamara

Cobre Panama Supreme Court Update

TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2023 /CNW/ - Franco-Nevada Corporation ("Franco-Nevada") (TSX: FNV) (NYSE: FNV) is aware that the Supreme Court of Panama announced this morning that Law 406, the law that approved the revised concession contract for the Cobre Panama mine, is unconstitutional. Q: Given your "We feel that we are currently coming out of the trough, recovering into an expansion" would you endorse SLF to BNS switch for 7% div and eventual BNS stock recovery (how likely)?
