Q: I am heavy in the energy particuliarily oil sector--betting on a sort supply due to cutbacks in the field and lack of investment.

Do you think this id a good idea?What is the future of oil?

Q: I presently have some U.S. cash available to invest. As a retired Canadian investor I already own CPX but would like to add Fortis to further stabilize dividend income. Fortis is listed on NYSE and TSE. Other than trading volume is there a disadvantage to buying in NY?

Q: What are your views on the latest earning results for Polaris Renewable Energy and its future growth? The share price has been dropping after a nice run-up. Would you rate it a hold/buy/sell? Thanks

Do you think that GXE is an attractive take over candidate, based on its size, share price, balance sheet and, perhaps most importantly, the nature and location of its in the ground assets. (I benefited entirely fortuitously, but significantly, from WCP's buyout of TORQ some time ago, and I wonder if something similar could be in the offing for GXE....).

Q: A Bloomberg recently article said that Enbridge is going to apportion space on a segment of its Mainline system by the most since November last year. It went on to say that 'apportionment is when shippers reduce volume when they see too much demand on a system, and has contributed to a glut of supply in the past as producers are left with the excess'. The article further said that 'pipeline apportionment has previously led to large discounts for Canada’s crude oil and now threatens already-weak oil prices'.
Lastly, it said that 'the rise in apportionment signals that export lines may be filling up again amid record oil production in the province and rising demand for Canadian...'
I couldn't unpack the above and was wondering the effect it would have on the stock. I see that today 21 Nov the price has not moved much.

Q: I just read this morning tour response to the possibility of a dividend cut st Algonquin. Then i read an article in the globe and mail about a number of directors buying shares. One would assume that they would know if a dividend were to be cut, no?

sorry for beating this horse but I would appreciate your thoughts on AQN.
These are speculative events. Can you prioritize these possible future events and give some high level reasons they might do it. Priority #1 being the most likely if it ever happens. (a) approx. dividend cut by 50%. (b) issuing more shares. (c) buying back shares. (d) issuing more debt. (e) asset sales. (f) others? I noticed that there has been some insider buying buy the CEO very recently. Thanks for your thoughts!

Q: I am aretired dividend investor and tend to keep stocks. My full position in AQN is nearing a half position (its in a RRIF so no tax loss selling). The 9.4% dividend for a Utility is extremely attractive. I am thinking of buying some more. I have read the questions and I realize a dividend cut could happen but since they will not report again until March 1, is a cut, if there is one, before then unlikely?

Why would they want to purchase shares when the float is only 35m and very thinly traded to start with?

Q: I could use AQN as a tax loss against sufficient gains for tax year 2022. I believe that tax loss selling in AQN most likely is going on right now. Do you expect the pace of selling to increase or subside. I am wondering if I should hold off or pull the trigger now. What is your opinion?

Q: Thank you for your response on CNQ vs GXE. I omitted one other potential and would like your comparison between CNQ, GXE, AND PXT. I know Parex carries some political risk but I am looking for yield (Diversified RIF) while retaining oil exposure. Figuring out risk/reward here.
