Q: I need to sell a small part of my holdings in either SIS:CA or BYD;CA. My intention is to remain invested in both these companies for at least 5 years. Which of the 2 would you suggest I trim?

Q: Hello 5i research team, PKI has just completed a new financing and is pushing off their debt for a few years, so I suspect they will be moving to bring the portion of the SOL ownership they don't own, (the SOL PUT option) into the fold soon. What do you think about this and the recent partnership in the DR?
Q: I have held ATD.B in a margin account for some time and am up about 50% to date (thank you).
Even with tax consequences, and different sectors, would it make sense to switch to BAM.A for increased return going forward? BAM.A has been performing much better and I have more confidence in it.

Q: Hi 5i Team - In checking Ink Insider reports I've noticed that there's been a lot of selling by officers and directors in the past few months. Do you have any concerns about this and what percentage of shares are held by Insiders today. Also are there are any other fundamentals that you think are particularly important. Thanks.
Q: Hi team,
In regards to TOI I am wondering how it is possible that there are no analysts covering this company? Given that it is tied to CSU as a spinout, which has been such a great success story I find this hard to picture? It must be known to analysts? Are they simply choosing not to follow it? Also, does this leave a big outstanding share price discovery catalyst if/ when analysts do start to follow the company and potentially start buying shares? Just curious about this situation with Topicus and would like your thoughts on the subject. Thanks

Q: Could you please explain the difference between BEP.un and BEPC and why you prefer the former? Thanks again.
Q: If you were a shareholder in Photon, how would you vote your proxy regarding the takeover?
Q: Good morning,
I have owned PKI for some time, and it seems to be range bound. Will there be any further growth? Should I sell and invest elsewhere?
I really value your opinion. Thank you for your input.

Q: Hi,
Currently both small weightings now in my portfolio because of the decline in stock price. Which do you think has higher growth potential long term? 3-5+ yrs. Looking to reduce XBC and pick up more AT. Or would you hold both equally between a 1-2% weight? I see you just added AT so I'm assuming you have more confidence in this name?
Thanks!

Q: If the deal doesn't go through, won't the stock price fall as it only went up to 3.60 because that was the offer price? I've been holding in case more is offered. The vote is really close. Should I just sell?

Q: When did you buy this stock for your portfolio?
In a recent question about QST you said that you still believe in the reasons you bought it and are not selling.
You dropped coverage of QST 5 years ago.
I see nothing in the fundamentals that looks promising.
Could you expand on the reason you are still holding?

Q: My ETF RRSP Portfolio is doing okay but when I compare to your Balanced Portfolio its return % is much less. I suspect that this is as expected because of the large number of stocks that make up ETFs and your experience is compiling the BE portfolio with a basket of about 25 5i-researched stocks.
1. If an investor was to implement your balanced portfolio should the initial % weightings be used or the current weighting %s? For example TFII is currently at about 8% but it has increased 140% since added.
2. Are there any holdings that you may be considering reducing or adding at the moment?
Thanks for the great service. Dan

Q: Shopify has crept up close to 10% of my portfolio. I have already taken back more than my original investment. I know that from a portfolio management position it should be trimmed, but is there any case to hold it long term, or is it best to trim and re-allocate.
My book value is low on it and it is in Non-taxable account.
My logic is letting a some concentrated positions run to outperform the market, but I also see the risk of a major correction in a momentum stock.
Thanks again.

Q: Hi,
If not already asked, what are your thoughts on the most recent news for Aritzia wrt acquiring a men's clothing line? I for one had not heard of this brand so not sure how it might stack up to other men's clothing brands. How accretive might it be?
I took a 1/2 position just before the announcement so good timing on my part. :) Street seems to approve of the purchase.
Also wrt ATS Automotive recent acquisition....thoughts on this? How accretive or what might it mean to additional revenues/profits going forward?
I don't own this but am watching it closely.
Cheers,
SteveMc

Q: What stock in your Growth Portfolio has underperformed the most but you still believe in the reasons you bought it and are not selling. Thanks
