Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: Hello, I'm recently retired. I am seeking income generating vehicles for my various, registered plans (RRSP, LIRA, TFSA) to invest in. I'm considering an investment in ZWU. I'm wondering if there might be a similar, utilities based, covered call, ETF available for the American market?

Lastly, if any of these ETFs might also be available without the covered call overlay and if you believe that those versions of the ETFs might provide better, mid-term probability of a greater Total Return; I'd be interested in your opinion, as well.

Thank you!

Q: Could you please recommend at least three Canadian products (stocks, etfs, bonds, whatever) that have an annual yield of at least 6%, but are ‘lower risk’. If you could list them in order of least risky to most that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Q: Good Morning
I woud appreciate it if you could provide me with Credit Ratings for the following companies as I have been unable to find the information. Maybe your Bloomberg will help me.
EIF, NWC, TPZ, FRU, PKI.
Do you consider the credit Rating to be a very important metric by which one can judge the safety of a company and of it's dividend?
Thank you............ Paul W. K.

Q: I presently have some U.S. cash available to invest. As a retired Canadian investor I already own CPX but would like to add Fortis to further stabilize dividend income. Fortis is listed on NYSE and TSE. Other than trading volume is there a disadvantage to buying in NY?

Q: I tried to apply Chris White's 5 factors to PET however impossible as only been public for less that 1.5 years. That said, does 5i have an opinion on how investable PET is at this point? Personally I think with the PE of 25, increasing revenue and earnings (albeit short period), and a narrative that I think makes sense, I feel that it should have a bright future as I see a lot of stores going up.
