Q: Hi, We have above banks with some losses in our portfolio and overall large capital gains already booked, from other stocks. In absence of any other Tax Loss candidates, Would you be fine selling Canadian Banks to book a Capital Loss, for 2023 and buy back after 30 days ? If so, would it be prudent to initiate the Sell, now and buy back after results, Or, sell after results and Buy back in January, 2024 ? Thank You

Q: Hi 5i,
Thanks for your very useful/helpful answer to my recent question about TSAT. Now I'd like to ask a similar question about MDA:
Could you dive into MDA's recent quarter and provide your opinion in general, and also specifically regarding whether you think anything useful is revealed about the financial aspects of the nascent Telesat/MDA/Spacex arrangement associated with MDA's contract to build LEO satellites for TSAT, and also the benefit to MDA of other irons it has in the fire (e.g. Chorus).
Thanks! Peter

Q: Good morning your thoughts on Quanta Services
Q: Are you able to discuss the results of CAR.UN? Do you see potential upside to this company given a more stable interest rate environment?
Can you also comment on their strategy? It seems given their focus on upscaling their building portfolio (ie recycling out older buildings and using their cash to buy newer properties), tail winds from housing shortages & immigration coupled with their focus on affordable housing (eg. mobile homes) could be good opportunities in the future.

Q: Thoughts on Diageo profit warning? Buy hold or sell?
Q: The shares set a new all time high after recent Q results. Please go over the results and add insight as to whether or not the acceleration in the earnings over the last several Q's is sustainable or a one off associated with the spike in interest rates. Analysts average of price targets is $1534 implying 20% further price appreciation. Is it a buy, sell or hold at this time? Thank you.
Q: Hi 5i,
I thought that I had sent this question but I will try again.
Re DRIP's. I hold different accounts. Over the years I have noted a discrepancy in the time it takes to deliver the shares. Some are delivered very quickly whereas other management accounts will take up to 10 days to deliver.
Is there an advantage to the management company by delaying the payment? Are there rules to the DRIP process?
I like the new rules to question time.
Thank you,
David

Q: I hope you can answer this tax question about my investments. I have a loss in my cash account on some PPL shares I own. I also hold PPL in my TFSA, where the shares are up substantially. Will the gain in my TFSA prevent me from claiming a tax loss if I sell my losing shares in my cash account?
Q: Would appreciate your comments on their earnings, and your thoughts about future prospects, particularly in comparison with your historically preferred choice of SLF.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Q: Hi,
Currently have no exposure to crypto and have been a spectator on the sidelines mainly. I held positions in HUT and HIVE awhile back but sold those. With almost certain approval of a spot bitcoin ETF, the market is gaining optimism and it seems investors are more bullish on crypto. What is your view on the current crypto market? Is this run up going to be followed by another crash or do you see more sustained rally with the new ETF? Is this rally going to be followed by another selloff once the ETF news is approved?
What are some low, med, higher risks positions to gain exposure if one wanted some small exposure. Here are some I'm watching. Can you rank whether they are low, med, or higher risk.
HUT, HIVE, BITF, RIOT, DGHI, MSTR, RIOT, COIN, GLXY
I know you own GLXY in the model portfolio already. Also, what would be your top ETF for exposure?
I'm a very disciplined investor, but on the edge of FOMO ; )
Thanks!

Q: Hi all,
What makes the crypto market move ? Relationship to stock markets, currency, politics ? Where do you see the cryptos in the future, a good bet or rather risky ?
Any interesting study on this ?
Good day, Denise
