Q: Good afternoon.

The other day I asked a question about dividends paid in US$ by Canadian companies. It was noted that these dividends are usually best kept in a U.S. account .

If these dividends are to be used for income in Canada is it still best to keep them in a U.S. account?
If so what is the best method to minimize exchange costs?

Q: You have replaced OTEX with NVEI. I currently own LSPD so would it be better to buy TOI instead of NVEI or would you suggest a different stock?

Q: An additional comment on the Ryder System question I submitted. In their corporate presentation they state they are righting down the residual value of the trucks in their fleet more but everybody I know in the trucking industry says that there is a long wait of tractors (trucks), trailers, reefers, etc. so that should keep the market for used equipment strong and therefore prices up., right? Why the bigger right downs in residual value?

Q: Thanks for your updated flash reports. I like the format. You mentioned TOI as a buy-and-forget stock.

I presume this means if you forgot you owned the stock and came upon it years later, these are the stocks you think likeliest to have appreciated nicely years from now if you just held on through the ups and downs.

With lots of volatility on the horizon (threats to global order, US internal order, pandemic, inflation, climate change), buy-and-forget sounds attractive.

What are your favourite buy-and-forget stocks in Canada?

Q: In my RRSP I am 7% over weight in the Energy sector and 1.17& under weight in Utilities.

Thinking of selling some of my ENB and split it between BIP.UN and FTS., to get my energy sector reduced and utilities increased.
