Q: These 2 companies seems like they are in competition with each other. I currently own a little of xbc should i add about 2 to 3 % of bldp as well. Seems like Ballard is making a big run lately.

Q: Fixed Income portion of portfolio is 40% and some deposits came due so need to deploy that cash into fixed income. Thinking of putting 25% of the 40% FI into these two ETFs. I would appreciate your thoughts on this plan please. Alternatives are welcome. Thanks again.
Q: 10:55 AM 12/19/2020
According to the Globe&Mail Dec 18, 2020 the Muskrat Falls hydroelectric project "With full power delayed until September, 2021, the project isn’t generating revenue from ratepayers and payments are coming due."
Both Fortis and Emera will have access to this electricity when it arrives [likely delayed]. How will this affect their businesses? Will they buy electricity and sell it locally and will they transmit to Northeastern US states?
Can or will they charge for transmission through the two undersea cables?
Can we expect this to be a positive event for the two utilities? Is this likely to increase their businesses and income and profit and dividends. I would appreciate your analysis on what to expect for Fortis and Emera
Thank you......... Paul K

BMO MSCI China Selection Equity Index ETF (ZCH)
-
BMO MSCI Emerging Markets Index ETF (ZEM)
-
Alibaba Group Holding Limited American Depositary Shares each representing eight (BABA)
Q: I'm considering buying these two ETFs which will be about 5% of my portfolio in total. Is this too much for emerging market exposure or not enough? The mer for each of them is reasonable but one concern I have is that both have BABA & BABA seems to be out of favour with the Chinese gov't. Is that %age a problem? Has this sector already run too far or does it still have room to grow?
Thanks very much for your advice which has been so helpful during my investment journey. To all the team Happy Holidays.

Q: Part 2 of my question about year end adjustments to my portfolio. I have fairly small positions in 10 of these stocks (0.6% to 1.1%), and no position in DOO. I would like to add to several of these using the cash generated from reducing larger positions in some holdings. Looking for best long term total return, 5+ years. Sector, and size of company not a major consideration, in a well diversified portfolio. I like growth, I like dividends. Looking at ATD.B, BAM.A, CAR.UN, DIR.UN, DOO, GRT.UN, ITP, LNF, TCN, TECK.B, SLF. Thank you.
Q: Follow up question. Who purchased most of the 2nd Lien secured note?
Q: HI!
I am wondering about the potential short and long term growth of VTRS as the sister company of PFE producing their generics?
Thanks Ben.

Q: Hi 5i,
Can you please comment on these two stocks and whether you see them as good additions to a portfolio? Any details on your positive or negative thesis would be appreciated.
I wanted to also take this time to thank everyone at 5i for their fabulous work. I have been a long time member since my late 20’s and your work has really helped me strengthen my confidence in the equity markets and work towards my long-term financial goals. Keep up the amazing work that you all do.
Happy holidays to everyone on the team.

Q: I bought into ABNB on the pullback and I'm up 15%, I believe ABNB has a lot of runway in front of it for many years to come, however, I'd like your opinion on whether you think it's over priced for the current market environment?
Q: Hi guys
I wondered if you listened to the earning call for ENGH. And if so, how that flavoured your interpretation of earnings and the next few years?
I greatly appreciate your service. All the best to 5i staff and family. You folks were such a steady hand in this difficult year.

Q: I have a considerable base of my portfolio in CDN banks. The share prices are approximately flat from where I bought them. Is there any catalyst to make banks outperform in the next year or 2? It feels like there have to be sectors that will bounce well with a recovery and wondering about diverting some funds there to try to catch the bounce on a return to travel and the like. I have nibbled at Air Canada and wonder about some other names that have a high likelihood of surviving and bouncing nicely. Canada or US, moderate risk is OK. Thanks!
Q: Morning Peter / Ryan and Team, first, Thanks so much for your calming advice through this past / current period of turmoil ! I am soon going to retire and start drawing on my rsp for income after years of accumulation. Thanks again to your guidance!!
This brings about some questions.
First, from a performance aspect, would a person be better using Drips and then selling stock to fund withdrawals, or, cancel drips and let dividends fund the withdrawals?
Second, when evaluating a stock/etf for an income portfolio, should more importance be put on dividend or growth? I have an all equity portfolio, diversified geographically and sector wise as per your recommendations, intend to stay in equity, simply increase cash reserves to fund withdrawals and allow a cushion. Thanks, Lavern
