Q: Hello, The Sprott Physical Silver Trust quotes in USD, but when you go to buy on the TSX it converts to CAD. If you don't have a USD account, then the order execution is in CAD funds, etc. Do you foresee this as an issue, or do you only recommend this fund if buying in USD. Is there a separation with the fund for USD and CAD denominated holdings. What is your recommendation on method to buy this fund. I did buy a position already in the CAD converted option.

Q: Greetings 5i,
Your thoughts on this etf for a TD customer in a tfsa. Building the wife's portfolio with safer broader market products as we get 10 years out from retirement. What would be your max % for this product in such a portfolio? What other etfs might you consider for a portfolio 10 years out from the big day? I realize you cant personalize advice but I would like your / the industries general thoughts on the subject. Take as many credits as you need,
Cheers!

Q: Great service. Do you foresee a buyer strike on US Treasuries given recent Trump activity and comments surrounding Venezuela, Greenland and others. If so, would this cause rates to rise? Is this a real concern or just paranoia on my part? It seems Europe, China and others cannot compete militarily but may begin to use economic leverage against the US. Thank you for your insights.
Q: Your take on this company please
Is it still buyable?

Q: Hi, Just a follow-up to a recent ZDC question from yesterday. I noticed on this site that the 'Consensus EPS' of ZDC has gone from a '90 day estimate' of .09 to a 'Current' estimate of .06 and observing the 30 day and 7 day has also ticked down. This is for FY 2026. I assume this is revised analyst estimates and curious what might be behind the down tick.
I do own the stock at a 3.5% position. Did they not get an expected contract(s) or it was pushed out? Or it is increased material costs for their towers?
Just curious if you could explain and/or if this apparent revision changes your opinion going forward. Your last comment indicated to stay the course.
Cheers,
SteveM

Q: I'm thinking to rotate some profits in BNS, MFC, POW & TD into GSY for a long term value/income and BANK or HMAX to add some extra income.
What do you think of the move and how would you rank BNS, MFC, POW & TD, are all worth keeping a position in?
Of BANK/ HMAX which would you prefer or is there a better name for a banking & insurance extra yield ETF.

Q: I own both.
I would appreciate if you could compare telus to BCE at the same point before BCE cut it's dividend with regards to similarities / differences , position, cash flow, ability to pay dividend. I am worried that Telus will do the same and cut it's dividend in 2026. Is Telus at the same teetering point or better off ?

Q: I am a retired investor of 60 living comfortably off my pension. I have done very well with your advice over the years, but want to be a more passive investor.. I have read many of your answers regarding etf's. I am thinking of moving my investments towards etfs in the future. For US ZSP and VGG 40% XIC/VDY Canada 40% and International 20% VIDY. Thoughts on my choices and percentages. Any other suggestions? Thank you for your great service over the years. Also any thoughts or preference between BMO vs Vanguard. Q: Would it be prudent to reduce energy exposure at this time? My wives RRIF account holds ARX, TOU, & FRU they represent 21.8% of the portfolio. My RRIF account holds ARX, TOU, HWX, PPL, OBE, & PD they represent 33.3 % of the portfolio, PPL alone is 15% of the total portfolio. I know I should reduce this exposure what would you suggest?
Q: Greetings
I currently own 8 shares of Constellation Software with a total cost of $3,877 in my RRIF. I am considering contributing $7,000 to my TFSA for the current year versus leaving the funds as a cash deposit, and I would appreciate your opinion on this decision.
In addition, I hold more than $40,000 in cash and would welcome your perspective on whether it would be prudent to invest a portion of these funds or to continue holding them in a money market account while awaiting further market volatility or unforeseen events.

Q: I am a long time holder of CSU and received a small amount of Topicus shares when they were spun off a few years ago. I am planning to seek the shares as they make up a very small part of my portfolio.
How is the cost base calculated for these shares? Is it based on my CSU cost base? My brokerage account shows a cost of zero which doesn’t seem right.
Thanks

Q: Good morning,
Regarding WTI and expectations for continued price pressures for H1 2026 for reasons we all know well, I want to get your thoughts on China demand for Venezuelan oil. China has been the largest buyer of Venezuelan oil, and following the events of last weekend with Maduro and comments yesterday from Trump regarding the US “taking” ~$2bn in sweet crude from Venezuela, do you think China leans on Iran and Russia for their crude requirements near term? Or do you think there is potential for Canada to play more of a role?
I am at a bit of an inflection point on names like CNQ/Suncor at the moment, and would appreciate your views.
Thanks as always.

Q: What is the investment thesis behind TVE and why should investors be considering this stock in their energy portfolio?
It seems 5i is quite positive on the stock w/ a good holding in their Growth portfolio as well as making some of their top picks for energy names.
Curious to learn more about why this company makes a good investment ?
