Q: Greetings 5i,
Your thoughts on this etf for a TD customer in a tfsa. Building the wife's portfolio with safer broader market products as we get 10 years out from retirement. What would be your max % for this product in such a portfolio? What other etfs might you consider for a portfolio 10 years out from the big day? I realize you cant personalize advice but I would like your / the industries general thoughts on the subject. Take as many credits as you need,
Cheers!

5i Research Answer:
TQGD takes a quantitative ETF approach with a focus on dividends. It is 65% US and 35% tech and 100% equities. We think it is fine and don't really have much to pick on here. Weightings are hard to discuss but we don't see a reason why it couldn't be a 'core' part of one's equity allocation.
Outside of this, we might look to gain broad market exposure across geographies and asset classes. From there, one could either tilt things to certain sectors or factors (such as tech or momentum) as one deems appropriate.
