Q: Hello 5i team; I have recently retired and switching my portfolio to income. I have serious overweight to Canadian dividend payers, ENB,NTR, BNS,ZWU etc. for preferential tax treatment. Is this okay? Risky? Should US be growth to avoid withholding tax.Own VGG, suggestions? Tia Mike
Q: Can I get your opinion on BAT…I’ve held it for many years…mainly for the fat dividends paid in US dollars…sort of like a bond proxy. But this year the share price has risen sharply and considering it’s in the tobacco industry, I’m not sure what to make of it…my plan is to hold it for the long haul but I’m awfully tempted to take some profits.
Q: Would you have recommendations to add to Tou and Arx to capitalize on growing demand for nat gas for lng projects in Canada? Thanx.
Q: HMAX ETF pays a dividend of 12%, payout ratio of over 200%, reduces the asset value by the overpayment and unit value is also increased. We would apreciate your comments on the prospects of this ETF and their trading history.
Thanks for your valuable insight.

Q: In 5i's recent video, it was suggested that - because of extreme volatility - an initial investment in crypto shouldn't exceed 1%. About six weeks ago, I took a 3% position in HOOD, reasoning that its diverse areas of business should insulate it somewhat from the wild crypto swings. Up 9% now in a TFSA. Given HOOD's high beta (>2.3), the likelihood that markets will go down in September, and the size of my current holding, if this were your portfolio, would you be inclined to take the small profit and reduce exposure down to the suggested 1%? I recognize you cannot provide personal advice, so hope I am not crossing the line with this question. Thank you.

I already own DIR for the dividend. Which is the better choice: adding to NXR with a higher dividend or just adding to my existing DIR holdings?
Thanks guys

Q: Hi,
I’m a real estate investor and I love monthly distributions—HMAX and UMAX felt a lot like collecting rent. However, after realizing a significant portion of their payouts is ROC, I’m exploring alternatives that offer high dividends, low ROC, DRIP eligibility, and potential capital appreciation.
My horizon is 20+ years. Could you suggest 2–3 ETF ideas in Financials and Utilities that fit this profile in the Canadian market ideally or global.
Thanks,

Q: Hi 5i Team,
Would 5i Research consider publishing a full company report and rating for Brookfield Corporation (BN)? I currently hold BN, but I find it challenging to fully understand its multi-layered business model and strategic direction. A comprehensive 5i-style report would be invaluable to investors like me, helping us make more informed decisions about this important Canadian company.
I have the same request for AEM.
Best regards,
Matt
