Q: I have watched many Youtube examples where jobs can be replaced with AI, whether it's call centers or financial analysts where Claude filled in forecasts exactly as an analyst would have. What stocks would you identify as leveraging the AI technology the most in the future? I would buy Anthropic if they were public (may occur this year yet). I'm assuming Google, Nvidia, but am I missing any? For example, Propel Holdings Inc uses AI... I would think that this would make Propel ahead of the game and be a very smart investment today.
Thank you,
Kevin
Q: Recognizing that it is higher risk than many companies, you seem to have a generally positive view of ZOMD. That said, unlike many other small caps that have followed market sentiment in these volatile markets, ZOMD has pretty much been in a steady state of decline since they released their earnings in late November. I note that the trading volume (in relative terms) has also significantly fallen off since then which might be a contributing factor.
As always, would appreciate your views for ZOMD going forward.
Q: Pre-market, KHC has really dropped on the earnings report, and they plan to pause the company split.
Do you see the dividend as being relatively secure going forward?
Comparatively, the stock price of other similar companies such as GIS and MDLZ are starting to gain momentum. Is most of the bad news now priced into KHC in your opinion?
Q: - what are your projections on GSY? I am currently down over 30% on it and it makes up 4.2% of my portfolio. I am considering buying because it is undervalued at the moment and analysts seem to generally rate it as a moderate to strong buy. However, I am concerned about having it overweighted in my portfolio. What are your thoughts? I have a 20-25 year investment outlook and generally consider myself to be a moderate risk investor
Q: To balance my portfolio what bond etfs and other fixed income would you recommend currently, give CAD And US options?
I have accumulated quite a lot of USD from good returns and I am seeking to broaden my exposure to non US stocks (e.g. Europe) are you okay with buying the US equivalent ETFs or do you recommend converting back into CAD?
Q: Could you give me your opinion on which you prefer out of this list ? If one was to combine 3 or 4 of these what would be a good combination ? You may take more than 1 credit if you wish.
Q: In your opinion, the Stella AI announcement of today seems to demonstrates that Constellation can leverage AI as a growth driver rather than a threat. Given that the stock is currently under pressure due to misguided fears about software obsolescence, don't you think this is proof that CSU will dominate through its proprietary data? On a 3 to 5 years horizon, isn't this precisely the 'decisive moment' to accumulate a market leader at a discount?
Q: I sold a PUT at a loss. I plan to buy another PUT of the same stock at a different strike price, which expires at a later date. Do I have to wait for at least 30 days to avoid a superficial loss?
Q: SHOP announced good earnings. I know call hasn't taken place yet but can you provide quick comment and what lies ahead for the stock over next 6 months. Was there anything really striking in the results that might serve as a big catalyst?
Q: Own this ETF. Based on its prospects for next 1-2 years would you continue to hold or is it a sell? Could you provide some rationale for your assessment? Thanks.
Q: Everyone, if a person has a growth portfolio, 25 stocks, how many stocks would have a negative return in a given year. I assume not everyone goes up each year. Clayton
Q: Do you feel that the international markets can continue to produce the returns that they have in the last year. If you look at S. Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, Emg. Markets, these ETFs have outperformed the US market by HOME RUNS.
Thanks Again
Q: CJT: I bought at $103 in Aug. and sold at $77 in Dec. for tax loss selling - held small position - 500 shares - man it has gone up a lot since then. Why? I assume you think I should stay away? Comments please.
Q: Good morning! I know the following are vastly different, but at today's prices, what would be your ranking to initiate a position? Please provide a short justification for each (pros/cons). Thank you!
Q: Hello 5i,
First of all, I wold like to thank you for the "Five from 5i" in general, but specifically the "Is Inflation Higher Than We Think" article - a great read!!
Secondly, pertaining to the article about the fee reductions for some Vanguard ETF's, I notice that VIG is there, but not VGG. Would VGG receive any benefit from the VIG fee reduction, given that it isn't specifically mentioned. (unless it was there, and I missed it - always a very real possibility....)
Thirdly, I am looking for some current recommendations for my grandchildrens' RESP's. Their ages are 5 - 7 yrs. old. One Family RESP holds BN (up 112+ %) and the other holds VGG (+73+ %). I went through the existing RESP questions, but given the current volatility and market uncertainty, I thought I would ask for your current favourites, given the foregoing. I certainly like many of the options given in previous questions, but I feel that the environment is slightly different now than it was several months ago.
As always, thanks so much for the awesome service!!!!
Cheers,
Mike
Q: What are your current favorite small cap, and mid cap energy names ? The PSCE ETF covers a good selection of US names. Is there a similar TSX listed ETF ?
Thank you.
