Q: Hi, There are so many new ETF's are coming in the market every month. Mutual funds sales is declining. what kind of companies are benefiting from this kind of shift?
Q: These companies represent 17% of my portfolio, with ENB and NPI positions being 3.5% each and the remaining approx 2 % each. Recently stock prices of several of these have increased 10 % or so.
Should I adjust any of these positions?
Without really knowing the remainder of my account, what percent in utilties would be suitable for a ten year horizon?
Q: Dear Sirs,
I posed a question recently regarding the new issuance of debt by Great Canadian Gaming ( 5 1/4% Dec/2026) and was directed to the archive. I have found commentary on the company, but nothing specific to this debt issuance and your view of this particular instrument as an investment. Your analysis would be most appreciated.
Q: ECN has hit a new high. They have raised their dividend and have been buying back shares. But their preferred shares yield over 7%. Buying back the common in these circumstances and not the preferred does not appear to be prudent management. Your comments please.
Q: Not a question, I came across this site that is useful for some research on pref shares
If you think it is worthy to pass on to the group
please do. I have zero interest in the site.
Q: Another solution for Kyle is to give trading authority on that account to a Canadian resident before leaving the country. The Canadian can then place orders via telephone still at a discount rate. That is the practice at one major brokerage; I have found that practices and rules can vary widely even among major brokerages.
Q: do you have any info on a company called Bluedot in Toronto - run by a doctor who has algorithms to identify pandemics - think it might be a privately held company but a friend was asking me about it. Thanks very much - Karen
Q: There's hope that an labor agreement will be ratified. Will this be enough to give the stock some momentum or is the sector as a whole still uncertain?
Q: Let us say that that TSLA isnt a car company but rather a tech play on software and AI. What do you think of the valuation? Also do you concur with Yahoo's assessment of it having a 50 forward PE
Q: Ontario Teacher's Pension Fund is increasing it's stake in French funeral firm OGF SA. Does this have any implications for Parklawn in terms of it becoming a takeover target?
Thanks.
Q: In your update today you noted the last quarter had "adjusted EPS of $0.02". The company reported EPS losses of $0.04 for both basic and diluted. Pls explain how the adjustments are calculated.
The company posted a loss of $2.7 million - a big increase from the loss of $1.5 million in Q1 2019. Pls advise what make that a "good quarter"
Thanks
