Q: Looking at the REIT space given what seems to be a general decline in share prices of most real estate ETF's and general real estate related shares over the last few years. I already own DIR.UN and now I'm looking to add a REIT to the mix that offers at least a 6% dividend. I know you also like GRT.UN and CAR.UN. What are your thoughts on MREL and HGR as ETF options? Can you compare the two for me? Also would you suggest an alternate ETF to those tow ... or even a single REIT stock that you think can do well over the next 2-3 years and offer 5% dividend and capital protection.

Q: In an answer to Terry this morning on industries that are vulnerable to tariffs 5i put pipelines as the second most vulnerable . When I asked the same question about the stocks in my portfolio's vulnerability, 5i said about ENB ....." ENB may not be impacted much and in fact is planning on expanding pipeline operations if there is a surge in US drilling under Trump. " ....Could you please clarify ? If I'm vulnerable ENB is going to be sold ..... Thanks for your terrific service .......

Q: Hammond Power has been drifting lower everyday and It looks like that the stock could soon break below, $98 support level, with US Tariffs confirmed making company's products exported to US, more expensive, increasing the risk of losing market share to its US based or competitors.

Is it prudent to be proactive and sell all holdings ( as of now we have about $15 gains ) or reduce by at least 50%, to avoid such scenario and revisit later, when there is more clarity/visibility ?

The proceeds may be held in cash, or could be used for 5i favorites like Terravest, Propel or Kneat.com, companies with strong momentum and none to minimal tariff issues. ( I am aware that these business are in a different sector altogether ). Thoughts ?

Thank You

Q: I figured it was coming sooner or later. What are your thoughts on the donalds latest blathering about allowing US banks in to Canada. I can not see them being interested as the market is well served now. With the current sentiment towards America it would be tough to gain any foothold in Canada. Your thoughts please.

Q: My son inadvertently, a while back, bought Canadian companies (eg. SLF) in his US Margin account. Is there a way to get them back to the Canadian margin account? Is that called "Journaling"? Would you end up with more shares on the Canadian side, given that you are converting from the US $? Any gain/loss/currency tax issues? Thanks very much.

Q: Hi,
Currently holding 2.46% position in HPS.A. With its larger revenue exposure to Canada and Mexico and impact of potential tariffs, does it make sense to diversify/trim and move some funds into POWL or PWR and which would you choose between the two currently? Thanks!

Q: What are your thoughts on this company? If the technology is as good as being touted there are many potential good trends that could impact their volumes (growing infrastructure spend, greater use of hydrovac trucks for civil related works, increased weather events etc).

Being small and located in Canada I would think tariffs could be a big headwind for the company as many of their sales / partnerships are focused in the US. I would think also being in the heavy equipment sector their margins are somewhat limited so not a lot of room to 'eat' margins in case of tariffs (and inability to pass on costs).

It seems down 30% from it's high and probably pretty speculative but interested on your thoughts. Thx as always - you guys do a great job!

Q: Hi Folks,
May I have your thoughts on BEPC and BIPC. I am thinking of selling my shares in BEPC (breaking even) and buying BIPC which seems to be doing better. This would be in my TFSA.
Thanks

Q: Tarrifs: assuming the market has a massive overreaction, what should I buy, what should I sell (perhaps nothing given long term hold strategy) and what can you say in general about the impacts and opportunities this will present?

Thanks

Q: I've seen these high yielding products before and just noticed that a few are now available on the TSX. I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on this type of product and how they work. I noticed the yields are pretty extreme and particularly on MSTY. I'm assuming this is maybe due to the high option premiums and volatility on the underlying MSTR?
Is there any rationale to a short term hold in this type of thing if you believe there's at least short term upside in the underlying?
(I considered buying MSTR last year but put it off. I think it maybe has a few months to a year of upside still if the Bitcoin cycle continues. Being able to buy in MSTY in $C is a plus and avoids exchange rate fees if buying and selling within a few months/year).

Thanks!
