Q: There are not many Canadian stocks in the healthcare sector. Telus is now in the Electronic Health Records business, and Loblaws now owns Shoppers Drug Mart. Would you consider L and T to be partially healthcare?

Do you have any stock suggestions for healthcare in Canada? If not, could you recommend US or European stocks that would be advisable?

Thank you,

Fed

Q: hello 5i:
I'm a long time holder of HAC, about 7 years now, and have been very happy, both with the performance and the lack of volatility in the stock. For the most part, its just been a steady eddy. I've reduced the weighting, but its still crept up to be close to 10% of our portfolio. Any comment on what you perceive to be a proper weighting for an ETF such as this? Do you have any comments to add as to your ideas about HAC?
thanks

Q: Press release from last week:
American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP ("AHIP", the "Company") (TSX: HOT.UN, HOT.U, and HOT.DB.U) discloses that Rob O'Neill, CEO, purchased 5,000 additional units today, through open market purchases.
Since January 1, 2018, Mr. O'Neill has acquired 163,398 additional units of AHIP, including 15,498 units provided as part of his agreement with the Company to take 100% of his 2018 compensation in the form of equity.

Seems to me a CEO taking 100% of his 2018 compensation in equity is a great sign and bullish for the stock. Do you agree? Also, how common is this for a CEO to be 100% compensated in equity?

Q: For better returns compared to individual stocks, my investment advisor recommended the above mentioned mutual funds. I would appreciate your assessment. In addition, I wonder if these funds are better investments than ETFs and if so, which ones would you suggest.
Thank you as always!

Q: Hi, I'm looking to add another stock in the "Materials and Energy" category in which I already hold Methanex, Parkland and Chemtrade all at about 1%. I'm not keen on a pure energy (i.e no oil, Nat Gas or pipeline) play but have been watching the three mentioned stocks. Of these three, which would you prefer today and would you add any? Long term holder.

Thx.

Q: I hold a full position in both ONEX and BAM (BAM in US$). I'm 79 and have cash to see me through the next 2 years. I look to my portfolio to mainly provide growth with reasonable security. Is this too much private equity, and if so which one would you sell and what would be a better investment?
How do you allocate these two when considering geographic and sector allocation. It doesn't seem right to classify both as Canadian Financial

Q: I was talking to my financial advisor about getting into a couple of high dividend securities north of 4% with some growth. They mentioned AW.UN, LIF, CGX, EXE. They said most of them have had a run except for the KEG and they said that one might be the better one. Which ones do you like of this group I have mentioned or are there any that you could recommend?
Thank you, Dennis
