Q: In my last question I had asked you to rank the above companies with respect to risk.
"We would rank these: GSY, COV, NFI, PHO."
The order of the list was not clear to me, since it was a little different than I expected.
Is GSY the lowest or highest long term risk?
I'm including the rating and stability from the flash report for my benefit.
GSY: B+, medium
COV: B, low
NFI: A-, medium
PHO: B-, low
Cheers.

Q: Hello, I'm down quite a bit on CHE and am thinking about averaging down. Everything I've been able to find seems to suggest they're a good buy. I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on them. Thanks.
Q: Seems to be getting whacked on a steady basis. It's guidance, revenues, increased dividend and expenditure don't seem that bad.Is it the market climate or empathy on pipelines or something else ? Your opinion ?
Q: I sold Bonterra at 14.50 a few weeks ago. Since then the company has cut its dividend to next to nothing. As per I can understand the company has a .61 cents per share debt and the dividend cut was 1.09 cut per year. The insider buying has not slowed down. but the stock keeps on sliding down. price to book 15 dollars. Is this a buy opportunity? Thanks for your great service
Q: The time is nigh...
I sold NFI, GSY, and PHO for tax loss harvesting on Nov. 8th, so I can now repurchase them on Monday the 10th. ( I still hold GUD and TSGI)
I already purchased a half position in COV on Friday as I was thinking of it as a replacement for PHO with respect to market cap and potential...however I am not ruling out repurchasing PHO as well.
Should I have any concerns repurchasing a half position or so of NFI, GSY, and PHO this week? Can you rate/order them with regards to risk...including COV.
My time horizon is long term. And diversification is not an issue.
I am also thinking of adding some NFI in my TFSA, as I think it probably has the lowest risk of the bunch. I already have SIS in the TFSA.

Q: Appreciate your advice on conversion privilege effective dec31/18
Presently down $4400 loss
1. To receive one cumulative rate reset Pref share series B of AQN for each cumulative rate reset pref series A of AQN converted
If u choose this option can u explain the reasoning and what might be expected in recovering the losses in the future with this option
2. If u don’t choose option1 I am assuming the pref will be cashed in at current loss
Thanks

Q: Hey Folks - Can I please get your analysis on Alexandria Real Estate - What do think of its balance sheet, growth prospects, risk, and price? I want some exposure to US real estate, so if you have a preferred option, I’m open to that.
By the way, you had an article about Sure Dividend in the latest Moneysaver magazine. Do you endorse this firm and their products?

Q: Would you please give your opinion on these healthcare equities.
Q: This question is specifically for Peter. I was watching BNN today. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple was being interviewed. This was the first time I have seen him speak publicly. I was overwhelmed by his intelligence and how down to earth he is. My immediate reaction was this the type of person who I want to be CEO of a company that I invest in. Fortunately I already own Apple stock but it just reinforced my decision to continue owning it. Have you ever met or spoke to any CEO s of companies that you considered investing with and were so impressed with them that you ended up investing in their company? Could you give examples?
Q: In reference to a question answered today, the person asked about taking equities from a RRIF in kind, then transferring to a TFSA after year end.Can you explain the procedure?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I hold BAC and am underwater about 10%. In the present investing climate do you think there would be more upside potential by switching to AIG? Either now or just into the new year? Thank you.
Q: Richard's has one of the most precipitous slides in the past 6 weeks (-20%) of the year.
In other market corrections during the year the stock has been very stable eg Feb.
It's unlike this stock to be that volatile. Any speculations as to why?
Thanks
Sheldon

Q: I have held sgy ,wcp and xeo for several years and am down substantaily. I recently added more sgy and wcp on the hope of benefiting from tax loss selling. Both wti and wcs prices are rising this past week but these oil stocks are continuing to go down. If oil prices continue to rise slowly where do you think these stocks will be in the new year. Andy

Global X Active Ultra-Short Term Investment Grade Bond ETF (HFR)
-
iShares Floating Rate Bond ETF (FLOT)
Q: These ETFs are described on their websites as active floating rates bonds with very similar timeframes. HFR has more US focus thought. However, their yields are drastically different; FLOT~5% and HFR~2.3%. Can you explain why the big difference. Which would you recommend?
Q: Just wondering what brought this slow horse up 6 percent today? Is it that it has been disclosed that a third party has been interested in buying it? Perhaps a better third quarter?
thanks
thanks
Q: I am looking at the PB ratio for Laurentian Bank (0.74) and I find it hard not to invest in it, except if it is really in trouble. What is the historical PB value for this company? Why is it so different than all other canadian banks? If they just increased their dividend, it must be a sign of confidence? Thanks.
Q: I have a question re IFC
I have a full position in SLF, and a partial position on IFC
