Q: I am in the process of building the Balanced and Growth portfolios, and I would like to take advantage of the recent pullback. I had been waiting for a correction to buy SHOP, but I notice that not only did it not decline much, but that it has recovered extremely quickly. I was under the impression it would be very volatile. Apparently not.
Anyway, could you please help me order in terms of priority to buy the top three or so securities that I don't currently have in the two portfolios:
Balanced: CAE, Celestica, Altus, Parkland, Sun Life, Stella, Sylogist
Growth: Dollarama, Covalon, Photon, Shop, IWO
In terms of best in the sense that they were unfairly punished and therefore have the most potential going forward?

Q: with the nat gas Companies beat up like they are , is there any midcap Nat gas companies with low debt ,that may be a good buy at their lower prices and have lots of upside. I have a time line of 18 years. someday[ Prime Minister sorry] will be gone from office and somebody will build a pipeline , maybe even leading to LNG. thanks

How does the earnings growth look for DIS , NFLX , ATVI , EA and CAT over the next 2 years ? Is the gaming space a good place to be . This seems to be a popular and growing area .

Q: Hi Folks
I hold Emera and have done well over time with rising share prices (up to this year) and dividends which tend to go up about 9% a year. I am still below a 4% position in my portfolio and was thinking of topping it up with the 4.5% decline yesterday. Can you comment on the recent earning report and drop in share price - do you think that there are any issues to be concerned with or more one time charges/issues? Is it fairly valued with the share price drop? Seems a pretty steady dividend grower?

Q: Hello,

One of largest positions are Alibaba along with Berkshire about 6% each. With Ant financial planning an IPO..does it make sense for me sell some BABa and invest in ANt.

Black rock along with being one of the largest investement companies is now trying to do something in the model of Berkshire. Would this be a good time to start a position on BLK.

Q: Hi, I am becoming aware of the investment potential in ETFs and that BMO has a number of highly rated ones. When I go onto their site, there is a bewildering array of ETFs and I would just like to ask if there is some sort of preference that you have identified for income generation. Secondly, in respect to the BMO ETFs that are in $US, do they all generate withholding tax? None of them? Some of them and one has to investigate each one to determine if they do or not? Thank you for any suggestions you can make that would point me in a direction for further research.
