Q: Last week, I asked for a few suggestions to diversify outside Canada. One of you suggestions was VXUS. I already have ZDM in my portfolio and I find that it outperformed VXUS over the past 8 years by a substantial margin (84% vs. 38%) However, ZDM has one possible major disadvantage: it is thinly traded (does that matter for a small investor?). ZDM tracks MSCI but I couldn't find the info for VXUS; their Canadian website doesn't recognize VXUX (vexatious that). Do you see any other problems and are they similar?

Q: Good morning 5i team.
Keyera seems to be struggling lately. I saw a reference to Bellatrix bankruptcy as well as mention of rights issues (disputes with KML?) regarding the Alberta Crude Terminal and Baseline.
How big of an issue is Bellatrix bankruptcy for Keyera?
Can you provide any details on the issues with KML?
Thanks
Peter
Can you shed light on these issues.

Q: Tech stocks have taken a beating over the last two months, due to high valuations and a shift to value stocks. Do you foresee a continuation of this trend into tax loss selling season and further drops, then finally bottoming out into the new year, or are we now dealing with just normal volatility?
Q: TransAlta renewables seems to have good momentum and Warren Buffett has bought into the company. A good yield. Do you see it as a good income stock with a bit of growth, or would BAM be better. I already own Algonquin Power.
Q: Gentlemen,

Q: Good morning,
I am interested in blockchain.
Not, the currency, but the technology behind the concept.
Do you have ideas on small/mid cap companies that are involved in blockchain as a business model?
thanks
rick

Q: I just read Ryan's article on Direct Indexing and ETF's and basically that 0$ trade commissions with brokerage houses impact on this. I have never used a brokerage house and am not a frequent trader. What brokerage house(s) do you recommend?
What are the risks, disadvantages ( if any) compared to using a bank. How do they make their money then?
Regards
Kathy

Q: What's with this TRI CEO search story? The company is doing a candidate search and yet the TRI Board claims to fully support the CEO. Is this company really that dysfunctional? What going on?
Q: Just read your article on Direct Indexing and the one thing you did not mention is, should a person presently owning a number of ETF's be concerned or will I eventually sell them off and buy into Direct Indexing in order to save costs?
Q: A friend of mine who works in Venture Capital recently told me about a small tech fund that was being managed by Damien Leonard, Mark Leonard's son. The crazy part - it's the old PineTree Capital, that terrible mutual fund-like investment product that would buy speculative mining companies and ruin shareholder capital. The Leonard family home office (incl. some of Mark's cash) now owns over 30% of the company. Upon doing some research, it looks like the company is trading at a 25% discount to book value although the new tech investments are not disclosed.
What are your thoughts? Would this be an appropriate 1% position (despite low liquidity) knowing that very few people understand investing in software companies like Mark Leonard, Damien's biggest mentor?
