Q: Good day. This is a follow up question to a couple of previous questions related to my daughter's TFSA account with a 5+ year hold period, moderate risk with growth and dividend prospects, Based on your responses she holds the companies mentioned in her portfolio. Based on her weightings she has enough cash left to invest in one more equity. She is considering adding either T, TIXT or LNF. In your opinion which if any would be the best choice and do you have an alternate selection and perhaps a comment on the portfolio? Thanks for your learned guidance.

Q: I am looking to offset some capital gains received this year from PEO and PHO (thanks!). Currently I have the following holdings in a loss position, in order of dollars down: TDOC, TV, XBC, HAL, XEG, NFI, SQ, TECK.B, XTC, WELL, ENGH, PLTR. I would need to sell the first six to fully offset the gain, or could sell more if using those in a smaller loss position. How would you rank these holdings in order of selling, and which of these would you look to buy back after 30 days (if any)? Note that these are held within a broad portfolio that I am also looking to consolidate.

Q: Good evening team,
I understand this answer may have been asked but I'm unable to locate your answer. If one was concerned about inflation what would be your sectors of choice to invest in? Additionally, can you kindly mention 5 stocks in both CDN and the US that may potentially help guard against inflation?
Cheers
Seamus

Q: At present my only position in materials is a 2.5 % weight in FNV, and am looking at adding one position. I am considering one of these 4. I have heard that Lun had some issues in Chile and am a bit concerned that Teck.B might have a bit of a drag from coal being out of favour with ESG considerations;. Do you think these concerns are meaningful? In any event, of the 4, which one would you want to choose, and why? Thanks for your excellent service.

Q: Eric Nuttall was giddy on Friday market Call about the opportunities in the oil sector. David Burrows on Wednesday was equally bullish on commodities stating they are in the early innings. Would you support full positions in SU,WCP and Teck.b going forward? Thank you.
Q: There is a lot of talk about copper as a fundamental commodity for electrification and cobalt being critical for batteries. These I believe are often mined together. Do you see opportunity for investment based on these theses despite of recent price appreciations and which company would you recommend giving preference to Canadian companies.
Thank you for your great service, Peter

Q: It seems like a lot of analysts are talking about a resource bull market especially regarding the inflation/stagflation discourse.
Do you feel we are heading into a resource bull market?
And, are there certain sectors you favour - Oil/gas, copper, uranium, food, precious metals?
Finally, are there any stocks within this very broad resource sector that you think is a standout. Please take as many credits as necessary
Much appreciated

Q: Teck has jumped a bit in the last couple of days, apparently on a suggestion that they would strip out their coal operations or perhaps even split into more parts. Do you see this as a likely outcome and if so, what sort of time line would this play out? I have some shares...would you continue to hold or take advantage of the current increase? Many thanks for your excellent service.

Q: Hi 5i,
Would you still consider Teck a buy even with the latest "Inflation Transitory" debate? Will the fires in BC cause a impact on the qrt release? Seems to be in a negative downward trend. I have positions in KL & NTR already for materials exposure.

Q: Thank you for providing such an unparalleled service. Your cost increases are minimal.
My question is about diversification in my RRSP which consists of mostly high quality growth stocks (GOOGL, VISA, NIKE, ACN, NVIDIA, etc.) I am however, under-represented in Canadian stocks which include BAM, SHOPIFY, IFC, FSV, & BIP.UN. My goal is to build up my Canadian portfolio in this RSP.
I am well represented in Tech, Consumers, disc, & health care with my US holdings. Can you recommend 10 Canadian stocks that I could add for the long term to balance out my portfolio? I am deficient in financial, materials & industrials. Or to apply the Occam's razor, should I just buy and accumulate XIC over time.
Many thanks
