Q: You mentioned in a recent answer that you did not like the price action on CTS. Does the strategic review change anything ? I am up about 10% on my holdings (recent purchase) and happy to cash out and take the money and run ...it's been a brutal year !!!! My cost base is $ 4.45 and shares are now at $ 4.91. Or would you recommend holding until we get more clarity into the review ??

Q: Rosenberg posted this to Twitter today. 60/40 split is not dead.
David Rosenberg
An early holiday gift: Don’t look now but the much-maligned 60/40 asset mix has delivered a +7% net positive return over the past month! The phoenix is finally rising from the ashes.

Q: How would you guys rate the above tech companies going out 3 years, I want to do some rebalancing by selling some shares of the weakest and putting the proceeds into the strongest. Thank you
Q: Appreciate the updated report on this stock I've held for a long time on your recommendations.
I was struck at how different the gross profit and net profit margins were (62.25% : -0.46%) as stated in your latest report.
Has KXS addressed how they intend to improve their net profit margin?
Thx,
Cam

Q: Hi 5i, only one question ever on VBNK (note new ticker - your system says VB) and it's an old one. I bought years ago, sold 25% at over 100% profit, failed to sell more, watched it descend, now just doubled down. I'm not trained in finance but to me the income statement over 4 years is good (though some expenses up), balance sheet is good to strong, cash flow good but two indicators (investing cash flow and financing cash flow) are negative, and operating cash flow has slowed (down 50% over 4 years). Nicely profitable, low debt, good business model, expanding into US (hopefully a good thing!), what's not to like?
Thanks for all you do
John

Q: please tell me what is the upside to buy 400 shares?
Q: hello 5i:
my question regards RRIFs.
Next year, I turn 71 and will need to convert my RRSP to a RRIF. OK, so far.
Question 1: for withdrawals from the RRIF, what is the date that the withdrawal is based on? One source told me it was based on the amount on January 1rst, but if I don't convert until later in the year eg October; is that still true? Or is is January 1rst of 2024, and if so, how can I make withdrawals in 2023 if I don't know the exact amount?
Question #2. If I specify that I wish to receive income twice yearly, June and December: if I don't convert until October, does that mean I only have to take out half the yearly amount? Or, do I have to take out the full amount, regardless of how many times per year I've specified as withdrawals.
thanks

Q: I presently have some U.S. cash available to invest. As a retired Canadian investor I already own CPX but would like to add Fortis to further stabilize dividend income. Fortis is listed on NYSE and TSE. Other than trading volume is there a disadvantage to buying in NY?
Q: Hello,
>
> I transferred a stock at a sizeable loss from a cash account to my TFSA early this year before I learned about the non-deductibility in this situation. I have now sold the stock in my TFSA at a nominal gain. Is it possible to recoup and declare the loss by claiming the difference between the initial cost and the final sale? Thank you,

Q: Time to move on? Bought to target medical equipment at a reasonable valuation. Have full positions in ABBV and MRK and VHT for health care. Bought MDT thinking it would do well when medical procedures came back after coved. It was hit on diabetes and now earnings projections. Loosing patience. It is about the same price as 10 yrs ago. Im a value investor and like the dividend but need some growth. Suggestions.
Q: Good evening, 5i team.
I appreciate having your opinion on these 2 names in my RRSP: Gilead got to 52 week high recently and Medtronic was bought recently. Both have decent dividends and good potential.
Your thought on which one to keep if there is room only for 1. Thank you!

Q: Could you speculate what led to the strategic review CTS announced this evening, and what some of the more likely outcomes are? Thanks.
