Q: Stella Jones is the only materials company I own and am looking for others to add to my portfolio. What are some 5i recommendations for the materials sector at the moment?

Q: If YOU were going to initiate a position in the above two stocks, would you:
1) buy at current levels
2) wait until valuations are better
3) buy at regular intervals over the next 12 mos

Q: Just sold BCE this morning (Nov 08/24). Please confirm the earliest date I can rebuy, should I decide to get back in? I get a bit confused due to the weekend impact on Date of Record, which would impact the minimum 30 day CRA requirement.

I assume the DOR for selling would be Monday Nov 11/24. Therefore, use 19 November days + 11 December days => DOR for buying would be Dec 11/24. This would mean that I could consider rebuying on Dec 10/24.

Am I correct? Thanks for your help....Steve

Q: I own both ARX and TOU for gas exposure. Both appeared to me to provide good results yesterday. Today, ARX up strongly on volume, TOU down strongly on Volume. What did I miss in the earnings of TOU?

Q: Good morning, I accept virtually every expert’s opinion that Tourmaline is a great company with great management, but I’m trying to figure out given all the current conditions if it is a good stock/investment? I know they are returning lots of earnings through special dividends but the share price has been sideways for many years. There seems to be some doubt about the positive impact of the new LNG facility, and if the US unleashes new supply (as in “drill baby, drill”) the glut may not be going away anytime soon. If you had enough O&G exposure, would you still find it a compelling investment for the medium term, or would you deploy the capital elsewhere (no tax implications)? Suggestions (any sector)? Thanks for your thoughts.
