Which of the two listed companies would you buy now for income and growth and why?

Q: In response to a question on Oct 10 regarding your top 10 Cdn stocks you did not include BN. Has your enthusiasm on BN faded?

Q: On October 1st, 5i answered a question which including this line "Historically, once the election results are in and the uncertainty has been removed, the markets tend to move higher into the rest of the year, regardless of the outcome." I can understand this happening historically but this is anything but a typical election compared to past elections. Trump is now speaking to the Economic Club of Chicago and again threatening high tariffs across the board. Sometimes you have to take what he says with a grain of salt but his Chinese tariffs in 2018 saw quite the pullback and that was nothing compared to what he's proposing. I'm up 20% this year with much credit to 5i. I know you don't like timing the market but I feel a need to safeguard much of my gains somehow (maybe 50% cash into CASH so it at least gives me a monthly dividend until the dust settles). Just looking for more of your thoughts here especially seeing there's a decent chance he may win. Thanks!

Q: I plan to invest $100000 in the US market.
Please advise if there is a way to minimize foreign exchange fees.
Are some brokerages better than others in this regard?
Is using Norbert’s gambit a good idea on large transactions when there is no rush on having the trade completed?

Q: I plan to buy 1 or 2 of the subject stocks in a TFSA for a term hold (5 years or more unless something changes). I see each of these stocks as medium risk with good growth rates. Would you agree with my risk assessment? Please rank in your view of highest to lowest potential growth rates.

Q: XTRA This company seems to totally fly under the market’s radar. It develops and produces AI tech to provide physical security access at large venues and events. Financials are out soon and optimism is high. Recent multiple new contracts with major sports franchises, arenas and stadiums. Some major player customers (Tesla etc). The technology ought to be deployed at every school entrance across the US. Its major competitor is facing multiple lawsuits over its inferior product and is now embroiled in the New York Mayor/New York Subway contracts scandal. Seems to me the stock price should be on a steep upward projectile, yet it has remained stagnant for ages. What it is about Xtract that the marker doesn’t seem to like? Or is there something more nefarious at play to keep the stock price stifled? Thanks for all your advice and mentoring.

Q: Is there any other potential fines for TD like in Canada or Europe ? Do you think TD will do a financing to raise cash to pay for the fines in the US? Will Td's capital ratio still be in acceptable range after the fines are paid? Thanks

Q: In the coming years, GIC rates will likely return to their previous norms, making it rare to find a GIC offering 5% or higher. I am considering increasing my holdings of TD shares in my non registered income portfolio instead of keeping too much cash. My theory is that TD has always been, and continues to be, a reputable bank that generates good profits. I believe TD shares are currently at a relatively low point, and I am thinking of giving them a heavier weighting in my portfolio. Do you agree? Thanks for your insights.

Q: How much impact do you expect the US asset cap to have on future growth of TD and as a result it's share price?

Do you have any confidence that the TD Board will make good decisions re management positions?

Q: I own the depository receipt for nvidia corp. to get around the problem of currency exchange rates. Is this a good way to own large American companies? how liquid are they when I want to sell?

Q: Greetings 5i team,
I hold these seven companies in my TFSA in roughly equal amounts. I would like to add WELL to my TFSA. Would it be wise to shave a bit from all of the companies listed in order to do so?
Or, do you see a better solution to achieve this (ie. SELL one / two of the other positions in favour of WELL)?
