Q: Hi, I have 10% of my portfolio in USD in a non registered margin account. What would be a good strategy to invest this money? The other 90% of my port is in CAD dollars spread between rrsp(balanced), tfsa(growth) and non registered(dividend).

Q: Hello Peter / Ryan
Generally speaking, is there anything out there that really worries you about the way the economy is currently or where it is headed ? On the whole, you seem optimistic / upbeat and I'm wondering what it takes to shake you up and make you nervous. Just curious.
Q: Hi 5i,
I am interested in purchasing the Vanguard Global Active ETF's, VLQ, VMO, VVO and VVL but, I am concerned with the low average trading volumes. I calculated the average daily trading volumes to range between approx. 500 [VLQ] to 5,000 shares[VVL]. I would like to purchase/sell at least 100 shares at a time to justify the 9.95 commission. Will I likely be influencing the stock price because of the low volumes? Is the Vanguard Canada published Premium/Discount data for these ETF's in line with most commonly traded ETF's?
Q: I'm considering BGFS as an investment & would appreciate your comments on it including information about the # of shares out, their debt load , profit prospects & future prospects in their field of business.Comments on their last quarter would also be helpful.
Thanks, as always

Q: I have read all of the answers regarding Namaste and it does not seem that you find it very attractive;however, given the latest announcements on the medical and the recreational side, do you now feel it has good potential from here. The company seems to be landing good agreements for distribution and their medical side seems interesting. My only concern is what stops the big players from replicating their model? Thanks
Q: I bought RHT at about 1.85 and didn't follow my own rule about limiting downside. With it sitting where it is now should it be kept or replaced? Could you name 3 growth oriented names (in portfolio or otherwise that you would rather hold if selling RHT?
In a recent reply you mentioned LAC (among others) has been crushed - is there any company specific reason for LAC or just the lithium theme tanking after the frenzy?
Q: I am adjusting my portfolio and would like your guidance in deciding how much to allocate to each sector in this environment. My portfolio would be aggressive growth and I have no need to withdraw in the foreseeable future.
Thank you
Q: Thoughts on the RBC analyst posting an $11 target? Quite a drop on that. Would you buy on this dip? What price target would you put on the stock in a buyout scenario by a larger company? Is this likely?
Q: Thinking of selling altagas. Concerned about dividend at 2.19 or about 9% with earnings at about .89 for 2018 and about 1.30 projected 2019.
Hear not favorable comments on BNN but read what I believe favorable as investment with you.
Can't see dividend remaining sustainable. What am I missing is this worth hanging on. Appreciate your comments. Thanks
Q: Any thoughts on GC's River Rock operations in light of Globals report? https://globalnews.ca/news/4401905/river-rock-casino-employees-may-shred-large-cash-transaction-records/
Q: There is only cash available in a LIRA, aka no cash in a non-registered account or TFSA.
At the same time, I would like to invest in three new positions - MG, TFII and WSP for a balanced portfolio. I have read in the past 5iR thought it preferable to hold MG in a non-registered account because of the cyclicality of the business but that if held in a registered account, then might want to trade around the cycles. I would like your take of holding these three companies in a LIRA that will start to be drawn down in about 2 years but will span, hopefully with good ageing, many years.....Thanks....Tom
Q: Looking to exit this name and add a better suited financial name for the next 5 years. What is your top choices in order of preference? (3+ year time frame)
