Q: Hello 5I,
Could you give your top 5 bounce candidates for a fed pivot in both the US and Canada? Could you please only include companies you like long term?

Q: Since we are entering what will probably be a very active end-of- year tax loss selling season , wondering if you will be providing a Report on potential candidates as you have in previous years ?
More specifically , I am interested in one such candidate - CPLF - which is off about 80 % from its high with sell-off accelerating over the past week chopping off about a quarter of its value on much heavier than normal volume.
Would you consider this company as one worth taking a chance on ?
Or better candidates in the context of many such huge sell-offs this year ?

Q: Hello 5i Team,
I'm helping my son build a dividend portfolio with stocks to hold long term. Would like to add a couple of pipeline names, with ENB, TRP, and PPL at the top of the list. I've read most of your previous comments on these companies, and most money managers I see on BNN speak favourably on these names in terms of sustainability of the dividends. What I don't hear mentioned often, however, is just how full these pipelines are - are they fully contracted, with no spare capacity to transport more oil and gas, or is there "slack" in the system? What's the outlook looking forward for just how full these pipeline networks will be? It would seem to me that cash flow and dividend sustainability in the future will largely depend on how full the pipeline networks are. How would you rank these companies on that basis?

Q: Hello 5iR,
I have a RIF account in Canadian dollars and one in US dollars. Are these treated as ONE account for tax purposes so that I can freely move cash or stocks between them? Or would a transfer of shares or cash be considered a withdrawal or addition and hence be a taxable event? I would think that these account really are considered One RIF. Thanks you for your answer. Q: Hello, Can I get your take on how the markets react during a recession? It seems we are heading into a recession in 2023. Do markets drop further? Do company earnings drop? What sectors if any do you see doing okay during a recession? Do I hold off on buying stocks till middle of 2023 and just stick some money in short term gic/treasury bills? Trying to figure out how to prepare my portfolio for a recession. Thanks
