Q: I "discovered" today that ET dividend was reduced of 37% in my RRSP since it is a US LP (limited partnership).Is BIP " LP" In my RRSP taxed the same way ? I guess and hope not, since it is not a "US LP" .I sold ET to Buy KO+PG instead ,at least no more tax on dividends and more stability ! thanks all for points of vue .

Q: What are your thoughts on BAYTEX ENERGY (BTE) at current prices and going forward? Year end results were released Feb 24, 2021, and it appears as though there were no production surprises, and they have partially hedged their 2021 production with price protection at $45 with upside to 52/bbl. Do you have a price target at current prices? What if we see sustained oil prices at $60-65 or even further bullish (some calling for $80+). Are their names 5i prefers in its place, or are you satisfied with a HOLD on this going forward?

I have new money to allocate. Which ones of these are your favorites for 5 year + hold notwithstanding they have different risk profile and in different sectors (best overall risk / reward. I am underweight small cap). I already own KXS and ENGH but i could add to existing positions. Thank you!

Q: I am looking for a good Canadian high dividend ETF. VDY seems to have the best performance following the FTSE Canada High Dividend Yield Index. Can you tell me a bit more about the latter index and stocks are selected. I know the CDZ, also has some set criteria for selecting stocks based on dividend payment history. Q: In this time of rising yield where is is safest place to find income in a RRIF. I assume corporate bonds better than government, short term better than long. What about preferred and senior loans. Equity sectors negatively affected would be real estate trusts, utilities, consumer discretionary and tech. Financial, industrials and energy are positively affected. What about telecoms? Is the projected earnings growth for these three stocks high enough to be worth investing in ? CTS hasn`t done much in the past year but looks encouraging for 2021 . Qcom seems to have momentum and is likely a good 5G play . BB has developed some business relationships with other companies that should drive growth . Would you invest in any of these at this time ?

Q: Hi,
Current tech holdings at 24% (which doesn't include AMZN, GOOG, FB - included them in consumer disc. and telecom). These three would add another 3% weight if included in tech. Are you comfortable at 24-27% tech for a growth investor?
I'm looking to trim my tech slightly and add to these sectors - Materials, Energy, Industrials, Financials. Looking for asset-heavy, cyclical, economically sensitive companies. What would be your top 2-3 growth picks in each four sectors (cdn or US) that will benefit with inflation, rising rates, and further economic opening? Thanks!
