Q: Good morning 5i,
I notice that you give lists of stocks. So, I will ask a similar question but perhaps more difficult. If one were interested in building a socially responsible portfolio, I hear that 15 to 20 stocks would do, what would you choose, given the need for domestic, US and International?
thanks

Q: I'm interested in the idea of green/sustainable agriculture as a theme moving forward. Any stocks or ETFs that could fit the bill? Thanks

Q: Hello,

My partner and I heard about 5i from a friend whose been using you for many years. You came with the highest recommendation.

I feel like I should be copying one of your portfolios, especially due to my lack of knowledge, but it is very important for me that my investments to follow my ethics.

I would like to know which companies on your balanced and growth portfolios would be highest on positive environmental, social and corporate governance, which are low and should be switched and for which companies. I'm happy to do research, but I'm struggling to navigate the important statistics and feeling incompetent in finding good resources. I have seen your ESG scores (https://www.5iresearch.ca/blog/ESG-tsx-companies) and would be keen to know where to find information on how they are created. I would also appreciate other resources that you think would assist in building a portfolio, or simply which companies you would put on it.

Thank-you,
Ellen Perkins

Q: I have a question, are there any socially responsible companies paying a dividend listed on the TSX that are good candidates to own in a portfolio?

Q: Hello 5i,
I usually only hold individual stocks but am wrestling with choosing a “green” company. I like the potential of companies like GRN,XBC and QST but their size gives me pause. Can you recommend and ETF that captures these smaller companies as well as larger ones to reduce overall risk?
Thanks
Dave

Q: I'm looking for a low carbon ETF to hold in my RRSP along side CRBN to increase the Canadian weighting. Is there a Canadain ETF out there that omits the energy sector at a reasonable MER? (And maybe there just isn't one because of how big energy is in the index.)

Thanks

Q: Greetings 5i Team: First I wanted to say how much I appreciate the "Five from 5i" every week, I usually find some nuggets in areas that I wouldn't otherwise discover or even seek out. I found the article "Changing Investor Expectations" as it relates to Millennials particularly compelling. I believe that Thomson Reuters has ESG research data that isn't available to me but may be to you. My question is whether you know of an ETF that has ESG as a theme that you think is currently investable? Also, though I hate to add to the suggestions for additional portfolios, would you ever consider an ESG themed model portfolio?

Regards,

Q: I've recently moved some RRSP money from a mutual fund company to my own brokerage accounts. My cash accounts and TFSA are in 5i type portfolios but I'm wondering about putting the RRSP money into somewhat "safer" and more diversified areas. I've looked at the Canadian couch potato's model etf portfolios as well as the canadian money saver portfolios. I'm wondering if you could recommend any "ethical" international elf's. I think XEN would fit the bill in Canada. Thanks for your suggestions.
