Q: I would appreciate your thoughts on each of the three companies indicated. What do you currently think about them & would you consider each to be a "buy", "hold" or "sell" going forward? Thank you for your great service.
Q: What is your assessment of the most recent results for PIF? What do you think of this company's prospects going forward and the safety of the dividend? What is the free cash flow of this company per share?
Q: I am at loss with PIF. Thinking selling it and buying either ENB, FTS or HPS.A to add to my existing positions. Do you think it is a right move as PIF share price is not moving? a Which one of the above names has highest potential under current share price to buy as replacement of PIF.
Q: Your thoughts on recent results for Polaris infrastructure. I hold a small position. If you don't see more than a stable future, I'm going to sell, take some loss and redirect the funds. Thank you as always for the excellent service.
Q: Hey can get your take on these two companies for income and just general value? I know they are different sectors but both compelling yield. Which would you prefer overall. I don’t really care about small cap risk just which do you prefer? Should I just own both. What did you think of their recent quarterly results? Feel free to take 2 creds here thanks.
Q: I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with PIF. As a utility, I understand that higher rates have likely hurt the stock to some extent, but it’s approaching COVID lows. My understanding is that its dividend is only 33% of 2023 cash flow, so no worries there. Yes, its biggest asset is in Nicaragua, but that has not changed (it’s actually less exposed to jurisdictional risk risk as it builds out projects in other jurisdictions). Is there something I am missing?
Q: hi,
I own these as a basket of these smaller renewable stocks ( I own other larger names including Brookfield renew. as well ). the share price of these is struggling. what are your current thoughts on the balance sheets, growth prospects etc. If possible could you rate as a buy, hold, sell, and flag any that are in significant financial difficulty. my feelings are to just hold them all, perhaps a few get takeover offers, and prices move up when rates go down?
cheers, chris
I would like to sell BEPC to benefit from tax loss and buy back in 31 days.
Portfolio includes:
2.5% Fortis
2.5% BEPC
1% PIF
Also have :
2.5% BIP.UN
1% BAM
2% BN
I am retired, like dividends and some growth.
1. Looking for a proxy for BEPC for one month
2. Your suggested mix of Utilities.
( Will probably increase BAM some more.)
3. PIF - I like the dividend but volatile for a utility and hasn't gained SP for many years. I have a small loss. Is the dividend secure? Any reasonable gain anticipated over next year or two for PIF?
Might gains be a little more outsized due to interest rate reductions in next year or so?
Do you think it could be a takeover candidate?
Should I hold this or sell?
Thank you for your usual great advice.
I prefer more rather than less detail. (Subtract as many credits as needed.)
Q: Both seem to be in same field, different geography. With varying degrees of risk. In terms of upside potential 3-5 years how would you rank between them and why?
Q: HI,
you had mentioned recently that we could be in another historic buying opportunity for growthy small caps. along those lines...
this list contains some of my small cap/more speculative holdings. could you comment on these as a current buy, sell, or hold. I am a long term investor ( 5-many years). and if any are screaming "I am going to zero" (like Xebec). and do you have high conviction on any other small cap growth stocks presently? cheers
Q: What are your views on the latest earning results for Polaris Renewable Energy and its future growth? The share price has been dropping after a nice run-up. Would you rate it a hold/buy/sell? Thanks
Q: Hi 5i team.
about 6 weeks ago sold AQN for a tax loss and increased position in FTS and bought some BEPC on top of BEP.UN as I am thinking of switching to BEPC to make life less complicated tax wise.
Problem (and a good one to have) is that I have a large capital gain in BEP.un.
Utilities portions as total of all portfolio.
BEP.UN is about 2%
BEPC about 1%
Fortis about 2%
Polaris about 1%
Question is what to sell or reduce to add in AQN back at about 2%?
Would you suggest a different mix?
I like the dividends and am OK w slow to moderate growth - retiree and looking at conservative ongoing investment. (I like all of these stocks.)
I am willing to pay some taxes as I worry about the capital gains tax rate rising at some point under our current government.
Subtract as many questions as needed.
Thank you.
