Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I have a full position in WELL but am also intrigued with DOC based on your recent comments. Can you comment on the new appointments in the recent news release and the pedigree of management. Assuming DOC drops closer to the new bought deal price of $2.40 would you be a buyer here?
Thank you

Q: I see that ARK invest is selling some of their holdings of SE. I currently own a small portion of SE. Do you see any immediate risk? Is it still a good stock to hold today?
Also I have a little bit of SHOP. How is SE compared to SHOP? Should I keep both or get rid of one of them? or should I even sell my SE/SHOP and get AMZN? Thanks a lot

Q: Hi Peter and Staff

The above 4 REITS are part of my REIT basket in addition to other industrial and apartment REITS.

All are down a lot . Please hit me with sufficient credits to rank them best to worst in terms of prospects for capital appreciation on a risk reward basis considering various valuation metrics as well as the future as you see it.

Please indicate any clear winners or losers in the rankings

Thanks for all you do

Dennis

Q: Good evening, as 2020 comes to an end it has been an eventful year for stocks. Can you recommend 10 beaten down canadian stocks that are value companies that got the short end of the stick this year? Canadian stocks that have all the criteria you look for ( strong balance sheet, good management, low debt etc ) and will recover as Covid runs it course over the next 6 month or so. I am a more risk tolerant investor with over 25 years before retirement.

Q: Hello 5i Team
I have reviewed previous answers regarding tax loss selling, however I cannot find a clear answer to this question.
I sold a stock on September 18, 2020 with the settlement date of September 22.
The thirty-day period from the trade date (September 18) is October 18.
The thirty-day period from the settlement date (September 22) is October 22.
What is the correct day I can re-purchase the stock and claim the capital loss:
1 - October 20 (settlement date October 22)?
2 - October 21 (settlement date October 23)?
Thanks

Q: What are your thoughts on OSTK? Would you start a position with a less than a 1 year outlook? It has had quite the year given COVID, but unsure how it would fare in a post covid world and where it ranks for crypto. Any recommendations you have as alternatives with a high short term growth potential (albeit with higher associated risk) would be welcome.

Q: Cryptocurrency
With lots of covid time on my hands I have been educating myself on crypto. I have been a huge sceptic but I am starting to turn around on the idea. It doesn't seem much crazier then buying gold or silver as an investment. Bitcoin seem to have reached critical mass, etherium to a lesser extent but the list of seemingly credible options is growing. My gut is telling me to put small amountsof fun money into speculating on crypto? I was surprised that not many questions have been asked about this.

So my question: Does or do you see a time in the near future where crypto currencies will need to be part of an investment portfolio just like gold, bonds or cash? If yes explain a bit ( maybe some suggested reading or resources), If no crystal ball prediction please.

Q: Thanks to all of you for a terrific service. I obviously appreciate the excellent returns, but I really enjoy the opportunity to keep learning every day from your reports and thoughtful answers in the question section.

Could you please give a quick risk / reward outline on the above three small caps recently mentioned. Secondly, what are the five small caps in the US or Canada you are most excited about today if portfolio diversification is not an issue.

Please charge as many credits as needed.

Thanks again,
Brian

Q: Good morning 5i,
I notice that you give lists of stocks. So, I will ask a similar question but perhaps more difficult. If one were interested in building a socially responsible portfolio, I hear that 15 to 20 stocks would do, what would you choose, given the need for domestic, US and International?
thanks

Q: Looking for some feedback on my International holdings in my RRSP. Currently have zwp; zem; and Zdi.
I am interested in PID to compliment my existing holdings. I would split my current zdi holding to make 4 equal positions.
Pid has had better performance over the last 5 yrs, covers the same geography as zdi however with different country and industry weighting’s. Pid’s MER is higher than Zdi with a lower dividend.
Is it worthwhile to split my zdi position, convert entirely to Pid or leave well enough alone.
I do not have to Rif for another 9 years
