Q: I currently hold Paypal. I see from other posts that you favour SQ. These companies compete in the same space essentially although I believe SQ uses smaller merchants than PYPL currently. Would you move a position from Paypal to Square?

Q: Hi,

I have a small amount of funds available to invest inside my TFSA. I already hold a small position of TOI (26 shares) and really like the company. I'm looking to either: add to the TOI position, or start a new position in NVEI or ASAN. They all seem quite pricey with current valuations (with NVEI and ASAN rising sharply in the past few days). Based on current valuation, which do you prefer for a minimum 5-year hold. Risk tolerance high.

Thanks

Q: While I am partial to PYPL, I would like a second opinion from you on these fintechs. Please rank them as the most suitable one for a buy and hold for a long term in a RESP account. Thanks.

Q: Just sold DND today and looking to increase tech exposure as I'm now underweight techs and industrials. Currently own LSPD and ENGH. Please suggest 2 for each industry. No US exposure. Would you buy XQQ at this point?

Thank you

Q: As an owner of both the above companies, I wonder your thoughts of ENGH going after STC via acquisition for the UCaaS software, and spinning off the rest of the hardware and services side?

It's not their style, but I think value could be had for both here. ENGH could use debt to finance it, and use the proceeds of a spinoff to pay down / off debt.

Would a transaction like this make sense? I personally would love to see ENGH make larger buys given their cash generation.
UCaaS seems like a good opportunity to braoden for them.

Just trying to get both of these companies going again....

Q: Hello 5i,

I am not thrilled with QCOM YTD -10%. NVIDIA +70% GOOGLE +64%

Do you think more patience is required or NVIDIA would be just a much better company at this point going forward? I am looking for growth and don't care (great deal) about the dividend (although it is nice to have). I know the valuation risk is different but it was the same risks in January yet the results speak for themselves.

Q: The following is from a CNBC article on Monday September 13th,

“ Now, Toast says it was serving more than 48,000 restaurant locations as of the end of June, up from 27,000 in 2019. Annual recurring revenue surged 118% in the second quarter from a year earlier to $494 million. The bulk of Toast’s revenue comes from what the company calls financial technology solutions, consisting primarily of fees paid by customers for payment transactions. Less than 10% comes from subscriptions.

In its updated IPO prospectus on Monday, Toast said it plans to sell shares at $30 to $33, raising over $700 million at the top end of the range. That would value the company at $16.5 billion, based on its outstanding share count.”

How does that compare with LSPD and it’s 150,000 client locations.
